Never was there a more beloved therapy dog than Bella Luna. For many of my clients, Bella was the best reason to arrive early for session. She listened with exquisite sensitivity, loved without bounds, and brought humor and calm whenever anxiety arose.
Bella noticed subtle shifts in the room, sometimes before I did. She would catch my gaze or quietly move closer to sit beside a client in crisis. She understood intuitively and never tried to fix, simply offering her presence as a gift.
Bella passed from this realm as I whispered, over and over in her ear,
"You are loved. And you are love."
Bella returned to pure radiant consciousness on May 24, 2026. I sensed her presence lingering for several days afterward, as though she were keeping watch while her loved ones grieved.

From Central Valley stray to Marin therapy dog, Bella followed her nose to a residential treatment center in Sausalito, dawn runs up and down Mt. Tam, the redwoods of Mill Valley, and finally, the cottage garden in Tiburon, where she spent much of her retirement basking in the sun.
