Celebrating the 5th birthday of my podcast!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After watching a friend start a podcast in 2015, it took me another two years to work up the courage to launch my own.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What started out as a desire to have a place to share “real people stories”, including my own, it turned out to be a big part of my thyroid healing journey as a place for me to share my truth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As I’ve come to know my Human Design, specifically the active gates in my Defined Throat Center which essentially says: “I lead when I express my voice, sharing my learnings and experiments from personal experiences.” I can see how the show brings me into alignment with my design.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have no idea how long the show will run, but I guess this is why, five years later, I still have so much I want to share and stories to tell.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you to everyone who’s listened and joined me to share their story.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PS Podcast listeners - if you haven’t listened to last week’s episode (Episode 235) yet, I’m offering a special gift just for you!

In Episode 233, I’m answering the question, “As a quad right, what should I do for work? I want to change too much.”

It’s no secret that I don’t believe that Human Design limits us in what we can and can’t do.

So, you’ll hear me share:

- What “quad right” refers to
- What parts of Human Design I’d look to, other than being a “quad right” for life direction
- Questions to consider for an exercise in self-observation with non-judgment

In Episode 231, I’m answering the question of how Projectors can manage their time when running a business, studying, and doing a lot of other things! You’ll hear me share:

- Why it's important for Projectors to reframe “time management”
- How to rethink time management beyond managing time and priorities
- What areas of your Human Design to consider, beyond your Projector Type, to help create a solutions that works best for you

✨Feeling Fresh.

The past few months have been about turning inward, clearing out blocks, and creative recovery - an expanded approach (for me) to healing.

I’ve learned along the way that the best medicine for me is d-e-e-p rest for rejuvenation.

Slowly, but surely, leaning into curiosity and making forward progress. 🤍

While not fun to experience, the past six months have turned out to be somewhat of a case study of an intersection of Functional Nutrition x Human Design.

Since the end of last summer, I’ve been suffering from unexplained skin issues.

After seeing multiple doctors, I was left feeling unseen, unheard, dismissed, and my suffering minimized.

So I put my Functional Nutrition hat on to investigate and uncover what’s going on at the root of the problem.

In this episode, I share:
- How this started and the discomfort and challenges it's caused
- How I’m using a Functional Nutrition approach to address it
- The added layers of insight that Human Design has provided

I also share the only modalities, thus far, that's provided relief, and new healing modalities that I’ve recently been introduced to.

What do the numbers on the Human Design chart mean?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is one of the most common questions I’m asked, and one of the first questions I asked myself when I was first introduced to Human Design.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Short answer? They’re called gates.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Long answer? That’s what we explore in Episode 209.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We chat about:
- What are gates
- What are channels
- Two gates from my own personal design
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then, in Episode 210, I reflect on the only channel that I have in my own design, specifically on:
- The individual gates
- What the connection to form the Channel of the Wavelength means
- How, in hindsight, its shown up in my life

I had a bit of an epiphany during my workout this morning. One of the workouts I did was a Pilates workout on .

One of the exercises was Swan, which felt exactly like the Cobra pose in yoga.

But then reminded us to engage our core because in this instance, the purpose was for strength versus flexibility.

It made me think about our intentions, and how maybe, we need to go back and do something we did before, but this time, with a different intention. And we find that it’s a completely new experience, but still equally purposeful.

Thoughts? 🤔

(or is this too deep for a Saturday morning…✌🏼)

A little behind-the-scenes update…

For the past almost-6 months, I’ve been battling skin issues. I went from thinking it was heat rash, to be being told it was a fungal infection, to dermatitis, eczema, then having a panicked-filled week where I thought maybe it was bed bugs, and now back to maybe a fungal infection again.

I’ve had pest control inspect my home to find no bugs at all, taking Coco to the vet to confirm she doesn’t have fleas, seen three doctors — a general practitioner and two dermatologists — all of whom were essentially unhelpful.

I felt unseen, unheard, and left feeling like I had no hope for answers.

Then, last Friday, I received a call that my integrative medicine doctor at the had a cancellation for Monday and would I like to come in.

I went into that visit not expecting answers, but hoping to be seen, heard and maybe collaborated with to put together some kind of investigative plan for moving forward (is this internal vs environmental?) — and that’s exactly what happened.

If there’s one thing I learned from my studies at the is that EMPATHY and COMPASSION can be some of the most powerful healing tools (and why I’m such an advocate for the awareness that Human Design brings to me), and that’s exactly what I received there (and if your doctor, practitioner or caregiver does not extend that to you, find someone who will).

I almost cried at the end of my appointment because although skin issues like I have are some of the toughest to resolve, I now feel like I have someone in my corner who’s looking at it from a whole-health perspective.

And that’s my happy thought that’s been carrying me throughout the week. And how fitting that this vision board is on the patient exit door - ☺️.

First official work day of 2022. Part of me is having a hard time getting back into its while the other half of me is more than ready (the amount of laziness that was my holiday break cannot be exaggerated!).

Committing myself to not putting more than 3 things on my to-do list per day, scheduling in bits of down time daily, and embracing imperfections.
