🚨NEW BLOG POST!🔔 Somehow jails have become the #1 health care facilities in America! This issue isn't theoretical for me.

As I've shared in previous blog posts, I have several family members and friends who have lived through mental health crises. I've witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be to find support, navigate systems, and access treatment before situations escalate.
I also see these realities through the clients I work with.

I've witnessed forced institutionalization. I've seen people lose autonomy. I've watched individuals and families struggle to understand systems that often feel more focused on control than healing.

What strikes me most is how little public attention these experiences receive.
We hear discussions about public safety. We hear debates about homelessness. We hear conversations about crime rates.

What we don't hear enough about are the untreated mental health symptoms, the trauma, the lack of resources, and the desperate need for compassionate intervention before someone ends up in handcuffs, a jail cell, or a psychiatric hold.
