😱 92% of Performance Problems Link to THIS 😱

23 out of 25 horses with performance problems have back pain related to their saddles.

That’s 92%! 🤯

As a certified chiropractor, saddle fit is part of EVERY initial evaluation I do.
Here’s what most don’t know:
Chiropractic treatment can change your horse’s back dimensions for up to 3 days post-adjustment - affecting saddle fit!
When we restore alignment and muscles relax, back shape actually changes. Your saddle might fit differently after adjustment!

The cycle:
Poor saddle fit → Back pain → Compensation → More restrictions → Performance decline

The solution:
Proper saddle fit + Regular chiropractic = Happy horse!
When the back is out of pain and working correctly, forward motion becomes effortless.

When was your saddle last fitted? 🙋‍♀️

🚨 10 Signs Your Horse Needs a Chiropractor 🚨
As a certified chiropractor, I see these ALL the time:
1️⃣ Pinning ears when saddling
2️⃣ Reluctance to work
3️⃣ Head tossing or tilting
4️⃣ Refusing jumps they used to clear
5️⃣ Can’t pick up one lead
6️⃣ One-sided stiffness
7️⃣ Uneven muscle development
8️⃣ Sensitive to grooming/touch
9️⃣ Difficulty with trailer or transitions
🔟 Lack of impulsion

Behavioral changes, such as pinning their ears when the girth is tightened, indicate that your horse is sore. Horses with back pain express this through posture or refusal to work, and compensation can create other joint problems.

Your horse can’t tell you in words - but their body is! Catching these early prevents bigger problems down the road.

Do you see any of these in your horse? 👇

😤 “My Horse Keeps Going Out - Why?!” 😤

Common frustration I hear as a certified chiropractor. Let’s troubleshoot!

First: Sometimes this is NORMAL!
Horses can “rebound” - especially performance horses training repetitive movements for competition.
Your horse held that restricted pattern for months or years. One adjustment won’t erase all that muscle memory!

Common reasons:
1️⃣ Strong muscle memory
2️⃣ Repetitive training stress
3️⃣ Underlying issues that can’t be solved with chiropractic alone SmartPak Equine (saddle fit, hoof balance, dental, rider imbalance)
4️⃣ Too much work too soon
5️⃣ Needs more frequent initial care
Expected timeline:
1st adjustment: Holds days to a week
2nd-3rd: Holds 2-3 weeks
4-5: Most stabilize to 6-8 weeks

How to help:
✅ Follow 24-hour rest guidelines
✅ Do stretches given
✅ Address root causes
✅ Add complementary care - acupuncture, massage make adjustments longer lasting
✅ Be patient!

Red flag? If recurring issues appear, get a veterinary diagnosis.

Is yours holding well? 👇

The deepest conversations are often silent.

Horses don’t need long explanations, they respond to energy, intention, and presence. When we quiet our minds and become steady in our bodies, trust grows naturally, and connection feels effortless rather than forced. That is where partnership becomes something felt, not manufactured.

Today, spend a few minutes simply standing with your horse, breathing slowly, asking for nothing.
