A wedding inquiry that looked completely legitimate turned into a major red flag.

The person gave me a wedding date, guest count, asked about packages, and requested a Zoom consultation.

Everything seemed normal until her meeting link wouldn’t work on my Mac.

I offered Google Meet.

Instead of simply agreeing, she repeatedly asked whether I had access to a Windows computer because the link would “only work on Windows.”

That’s when I stopped.

For fellow wedding vendors:
• create the Zoom/Google Meet link yourself
• don’t install software sent by a prospective client
• be cautious when someone insists on a specific device or operating system
• trust unnecessary friction as a reason to verify before clicking

Sharing because these inquiries can look surprisingly real.

Save this and send it to another wedding vendor.
