I’ve shared a LOT of information with you here, but I’ve realized I haven’t really shared the story behind why I do what I do.

So, here’s a little more about me. 👋🏼

My path to chiropractic actually started with me wanting to become a dermatologist, then a family practice MD. The “a-ha” moment occurred just a couple of months before graduating from undergrad, when a chiropractor blew my mind about all of the wonderful benefits the profession brings!

Over the years, my interests in sports, movement, prenatal care, & pediatrics have shaped the way I practice today.

What I love most about chiropractic is that I get to work with people who have completely different bodies, goals, & stages of life.
My job isn’t simply to find the spot that hurts & make it feel better. It’s to help you understand why you’re feeling what you’re feeling, what your body needs, & how we can help you continue doing the things you love.

Whether that’s getting through pregnancy comfortably, getting back to your favorite sport, keeping up with your kids, or surviving another 8-hour day at your desk 😂 I’m here for it.

Thanks for being here & letting me do what I love. 💛

Pregnant and getting random zaps, aches, or sharp pains around your pelvis? ⚡️🤰🏼

You’re definitely not alone.
Two things that can sometimes be confused are symphysis p***c dysfunction (SPD) and lightning crotch.

🦴 SPD tends to be more musculoskeletal & can cause pain around the p***c bone, groin, hips, or lower back. It may become more noticeable with walking, stairs, getting in/out of the car, standing on one leg, or rolling over in bed.

⚡️ Lightning crotch is usually a very brief, sharp or shooting sensation in the vaginal/pelvic region, often related to pressure on the cervix or surrounding nerves as pregnancy progresses.

And here’s the important part:
They’re not treated the same way.

If you’re dealing with PGP, the goal is generally to help your body tolerate movement & load, not convince you that your pelvis is “out” and needs to constantly be put back into place.

Strength, movement modifications, pelvic health PT, support strategies, & appropriate manual therapy can all have a role depending on the individual!

And if it’s lightning crotch? Sometimes the answer is simply “Yep, pregnancy is weird.” 😂
But persistent, severe, or concerning pain should always be discussed with your pregnancy care provider.

Save this for the next time pregnancy gives you a random pelvic zing! ⚡️

Back-to-school means back-to-sports! 🏃⚽
If your child needs a sports physical this season, you have options!

As chiropractors, we spend years studying the musculoskeletal system, biomechanics, & human movement.
That means a sports physical is more than just a form to sign!
It’s an opportunity to evaluate how your child moves, discuss previous injuries, & help identify areas that may benefit from additional attention before the season begins.

A sports physical isn’t about finding reasons your child can’t play.
It’s about helping them participate as safely & confidently as possible.

Whether your athlete is stepping onto the soccer field, volleyball court, cross-country trail, or basketball court, I love helping families prepare for a healthy season!

💬 What sport is your child playing this year? Let me know in the comments! 🏅

Note: In many states, including California, chiropractors are authorized to perform sports physicals for grades K-12. Always check your school’s requirements!

Raise your hand if someone has told you to “sit up straight.” 🙋🏻‍♀️

For years, we’ve been taught that there’s one perfect posture & that if we could just maintain it, we’d avoid pain.
I’ll be honest, even I’ve obsessed over proper posture before. But the evidence tells a more interesting story!

People with “perfect” posture can still experience neck or back pain.
People who slouch sometimes have no pain at all.
Why?
Because our bodies aren’t designed to stay frozen in one position. They’re designed to move.

If you’re sitting at a desk all day, don’t stress about being perfectly upright for eight hours. Instead:
✔️ Change positions regularly.
✔️ Stand up every 30–60 minutes.
✔️ Strengthen your glutes, legs, core, & back.
✔️ Stretch areas that tend to get stiff after prolonged sitting, like your chest, hip flexors, & thoracic spine.

At the end of the day, there is no “perfect posture”.
We should build a body that’s resilient enough to handle the positions & activities you ask of it. 💪🏻

💬 What’s your biggest challenge after a long day at your desk: neck tension, low back stiffness, or tight hips?

Ever notice how you stretch the same muscle every day... & it still feels tight? 🤔

Sometimes a muscle feels tight because it’s truly stiff or has lost flexibility. In those cases, stretching can be incredibly helpful.
But other times, a muscle feels tight because it’s working overtime to compensate for weakness somewhere else. In that case, building strength & improving movement quality may lead to more lasting relief!

One of my favorite approaches is:
✔️ Release (foam roller or lacrosse ball)
✔️ Stretch (if mobility is limited)
✔️ Strengthen (to help your body better tolerate the demands of everyday life)

Remember: feeling tight is a sensation, not a diagnosis. The key is figuring out why it feels that way!

💬 What’s one muscle you feel like you’re constantly stretching?

Vacation should leave you with great memories, not just a stiff neck ☀️✈️

Whether you’re road-tripping, flying across the country, or exploring a new city, travel often means spending more time sitting & less time moving.

A few simple habits can go a long way:
✈️ Get up & move during long flights or drives
💼 Lift luggage with your legs & avoid twisting while carrying heavy bags
💧 Stay hydrated throughout the day
🥾 Warm up before jumping into hikes, beach games, or other activities
🎾 Pack a lacrosse ball or massage gun for quick mobility breaks

Move often, recover well, & enjoy your summer adventures!

💬 Where are you traveling to this summer? 🌴

If I could recommend one exercise to most pregnant patients, it would be the ✨squat✨

Not because it’s a miracle movement, but because it’s one of the most functional things we do!

Every day, you’re already squatting to:
✔️ Sit down & stand up
✔️ Pick something up off the floor
✔️ Get off the couch
✔️ Reach into the crib
✔️ Play with your kids

During pregnancy, squats can help build strength in the glutes, quads, & core while supporting balance & mobility as the body changes.

he best part? Squats are incredibly adaptable.

Whether it’s a bodyweight squat, a goblet squat, a box squat, or using the counter for support, there are plenty of ways to make them work for your stage of pregnancy & your comfort level.

Remember: the best exercise is the one you can perform with good form, confidence, & consistency!

💬 What’s your favorite squat variation?

Strength training during pregnancy doesn’t have to be complicated!

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that pregnancy means you should stop lifting weights.
For most healthy pregnancies, the opposite is often true: staying active can help support posture, reduce aches & pains, improve balance, maintain strength, & prepare you for the physical demands of labor, delivery, & caring for your baby!

A few reminders:
✨ Focus on consistency over intensity.
✨ Leave a few reps in the tank. You shouldn’t be training to complete exhaustion!
✨ Prioritize good technique & quality movement.
✨ Progress gradually, & don’t be afraid to modify as your pregnancy evolves.

Every pregnancy is different, so your exercise routine should be too. Working with your prenatal healthcare team, a qualified prenatal strength coach, & a pelvic floor physical therapist can help you exercise confidently & safely.

Movement isn’t about proving what your body can do.
It’s about supporting what your body is already doing. 💛
