Hi FoodKarma friends,
Green tea and matcha have some magical power to boost our focus and enhance memory.
I love both but I love matcha even more and here is why.
Green tea can improve brain functionalities and has been proven by experiments.
Green tea contains L-theanine, which is a kind of amino acid that can go through the blood vessel wall and increase the activity of neurotransmitters.
L-theanine can increase the frequency of alpha waves in the brain and help you relax. When you need imagination and creativity, L-theanine can help you become more productive. For example, when you are writing, painting, or designing.
When was your last time came up with a great idea after showing? According to the science of creativity, when we are relaxed like showering, our brains are in alpha waves and can always come up with a great idea to solve difficult problems.
Research also shows that L-theanine in green tea can lower the jittery feeling from caffeine. So for some people, green tea can be a better choice to boost focus and energy instead of coffee.
Green tea also contains polyphenol and antioxidant to protect brains from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
Not only that, green tea can improve memory as well.
Matcha contains more L-theanine than green tea.
Here are some differences between green tea and matcha:
Both matcha and green tea are derived from the same plant called Camellia Sinensis. While green tea leaves usually come in the form of a teabag, matcha is in powder form. Matcha is actually 100% green tea leaves that have been ground into a fine powder. ... However, matcha has a much richer, more buttery flavor.
Matcha is more concentrated in antioxidants, and one cup of matcha is equivalent to three cups of green tea. Matcha can also improve your recovery after exercise.
