Summer is officially over, and I keep thinking about everything Lemons to Lemonade accomplished this year. 💛🍋

Our camp has grown from 21 → 32 → 58 campers, and somehow that still doesn’t feel real.

Thank you to EVERYONE who helped make this summer exceed even my own goals — our Board, teen volunteers, clinicians, adult volunteers, families, sponsors, and community.

What excites me most is what comes next. With 48 teenagers at my side and so many incredible people behind this mission, I really believe we are going to reach and impact so many more grieving kids.

Our Teen Advisory Board is already getting to work, and I cannot wait to show you what we are creating next.

Our first meetup of the school year is here. 💛🍋

Join us August 30 at Fired Up in San Clemente. Any child or teen who has lost a parent or loved one is welcome.

It’s not griefy. We’re just a community of kids and teens who get it, have fun together, and know no one should have to feel alone in their grief.💛

As summer is almost over, I keep thinking about how amazing this summer’s camp was. ✨⭐️

We literally pushed past our goals, and I am still pinching myself. 58 campers, 48 TEEN volunteers, 10 Hoag volunteers, and 10 adults from our community who wanted to be part of Lemons to Lemonade.💪🍋

Why? Because grief can be so silent, and honestly, I feel like L2L is helping people realize just how important it is to show up for grieving kids and give them a place where they can talk, laugh, make friends, and know they are not the only one going through it. 💛

Hearing our campers talk about what camp meant to them is everything. This is why we keep going, why we keep growing, and why I know there is still so much more we can do. 💛🍋

It’s here. 💛🍋 Swipe through to read my story — “Grief to Girl Power” — straight from Get Griefy Magazine’s Kids Issue. I’m so grateful to share why I started Lemons to Lemonade, from losing my dad as a child to building something that’s now reached 500+ grieving children and families since 2024. This is why I do this work. Read the full article free at getgriefy.com.🍋

Our 2026 Summer Camp was one we will never forget. 💛🍋

Over four incredible days, 58 campers, 48 teen volunteers, 12 Hoag clinical volunteers, and 11 adult volunteers came together for friendship, laughter, connection, and so many unforgettable moments.

There is nothing else like this for grieving children in Orange County, and this camp showed us just how much our community needs it.

Thank you to every volunteer, sponsor, partner, donor, and family who helped make it possible. We are so proud of what we are building, but we cannot do it without you—and we cannot wait to see what comes next.

We are so grateful to have Becky Lomaka, a member of our Board of Directors, join us at camp this year. 💛

When we listen to Becky share what this work means to her, it reminds us why we have to keep going. It means so much to know that others in our community see what we see—that grieving children need connection, support, and a place where they know they are not alone.

This work is so important, and together, we are building a community for grieving children and their families. Thank you, Becky, for believing in Lemons to Lemonade and for being part of it. 🍋💛

This week reminded us that it truly takes a community to make something special happen.

To our 48 teen volunteers, our incredible Hoag clinical team, every adult volunteer who gave their time and heart, and our generous sponsors—George Hoag Family Foundation, Edwards Lifesciences, and Toyota of Orange🍊—thank you.
Because of you, 58 grieving children experienced friendship, laughter, connection, and a place where they realized they weren’t alone.
You didn’t just volunteer. You became part of a child’s story, and hopefully, a small part of their future.⭐️✨

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in Lemons to Lemonade. 💛🍋
