For over a decade, I’ve heard some version of the same thing this time of year: people feel stretched thin heading into the last stretch of the calendar.

But something else became especially clear to me when I left for three months to study in India.

The clients who kept their practice going weren’t necessarily the ones who had memorized the most techniques.

They were the ones who had actually practiced what we’d worked on together—in their own lives, without me in the room.

Not because they needed someone watching them to do it right. Because they’d practiced enough that the tools were becoming their own.

They knew how to return to their breath. How to move. How to notice when they were getting pulled away from themselves. And they continued showing up for themselves even when our normal rhythm together wasn’t there.

That’s the whole reason RESET is built the way it is.

Not so you have something new to know.

So that over these 21 days, you have the opportunity to actually practice—again and again—until some of these tools begin to feel more familiar and more accessible in your own life.

Because ultimately, I don’t want you to need me in the room.

I want the practice to belong to you.

And if you’ve been sensing the pace of this next season picking up, this is an opportunity to begin building that relationship now—not only when you desperately need it.

21-Day RESET begins September 27.
Enrollment is now open through the link in bio. ✨

SMM — Slow Burn Series

A Slow Burn class favorite 🔥

One series. Six ways to build it.

We start with a simple toe tap and progressively layer in flexion, longer levers + rotation — building challenge while maintaining connection + control through the center.

THE SERIES ↓

1. Toe Taps
Keep the core + pelvis steady as you alternate legs.
2. Curl + Toe Tap
Curl up as the leg lifts. Roll back as the toes tap down.
3. Curl + Single Leg Reach
Add a single-leg reach toward the ceiling.
4. Curl + Leg Reach
Reach the leg long as you curl up. Return with control.
5. Twist + Leg Reach
Rotate toward the bent knee as the opposite leg reaches long. Lengthen back out with control.
6. Pulse Finisher 🔥
Stay in your final curl + twist and finish with small, controlled pulses.

Do 4–8 of each, flowing from one variation directly into the next for that Slow Burn. Finish with 8–16 pulses on each side.

You don’t have to rush to the final variation. Stay with the layer where you can maintain your form, breath + connection — then build from there.

Save this one for your next mat workout. ✨

Maybe the goal isn’t to stop thinking.

Maybe it’s learning to notice when we’ve become so wrapped up in a thought that we’ve forgotten we’re the one observing it.

That little bit of space matters.

Because once we can see the spiral, we have a choice about whether we keep following it.

And sometimes awareness is enough.

Other times, we need a little support getting there.

Movement.
Breath.
Mantra.
Repetition.

Different moments call for different tools.

But the invitation is the same:

Notice what’s happening.
Create a little space.
Choose what you return to.

What helps you come back when your mind gets caught in a loop?

We know so much about what we could be doing to support ourselves.

Breathe. Move. Meditate. Rest. Slow down.

But knowing a practice and being able to reach for it when we actually need it are two different things.

This is something I see often in my work. Sometimes what helps most isn’t another piece of information—it’s having the space to practice. To experience the tool often enough that it begins to feel familiar. Accessible. Something we know how to return to.

That’s why I believe so deeply in practice.

Not because we need to become perfectly calm or regulated all the time, but because repetition gives us an opportunity to become more familiar with ourselves—and with what actually supports us.

A few intentional breaths may not change everything happening around you.

But they can create a moment to pause, notice, and reconnect with yourself before you move into whatever comes next.

And sometimes, that small moment is enough to begin. 🤍

There’s a question I’ve been sitting with all week, and I think it’s the one this class is actually about.

What part of you has been waiting to be loved?

Not because you’re broken. That’s the part worth saying clearly, your habits may need to change, your nervous system may need support, your body may grow stronger, your relationships may grow healthier. But none of that happens because something in you was ever fundamentally wrong. It happens because, little by little, you remember who you were before the fear, before the conditioning, before the story that you were ever separate from love in the first place.

In yoga, we call those old patterns samskaras, the grooves our conditioning leaves behind. They can run deep. But they were never able to touch what’s underneath them. Love doesn’t create the Self. Love just cleans the mirror, so we can finally see what was already there.

This Friday is Week Two of The Path Home, Returning to the Heart. We’ll move mindfully, meditate, chant, and spend some real time with that one question. If some part of you has been waiting a while to be met, this is an invitation.

You didn’t come here looking for a spiritual awakening. You came for strength, for mobility, maybe just to move without pain again.

That’s enough. That’s exactly where we start.

But something tends to happen once you spend real time in your body. You start noticing more than muscle. And when you’re ready for that, there’s a whole practice waiting, breath, meditation, ritual, sound. Nothing required. Just available.

This is what makes EXPAND+BREATHE different. We’re not choosing between the science and the spirit. We never have.

If you’ve been craving strength, and also something quieter you can’t quite name yet, this might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

California’s Central Coast, in person. Everywhere else, virtually.

Come find out what your body already knows.
