Congratulations to Ms. Majek for being named Nurse of the Quarter!

Mrs. Majek has been a strong and steady presence on one of our younger units on campus. Working with a young population requires both structure and compassion. Nurse Majek remains calm in stressful situations and maintains a positive attitude while setting clear boundaries and building rapport so her patients feel safe and supported.

She is a role model for the nursing team, consistently demonstrating professionalism and empathy. She advocates for her patients and ensures family members feel reassured that their loved ones are in good hands.

We are happy to announce that Ms. Lechuga has been promoted to a Tier 3 MHA!

Ms. Lechuga has been actively involved in special programming on her unit and will continue expanding and refining positive reinforcement programs for the patients she serves. She listens closely, knows her patients well, and consistently advocates for the kiddos and the goals that motivate them on campus.

We appreciate her ability to wear many hats while delivering service excellence across the board.

When our native Texas Mountain Laurels bloom, it’s one of the first signs that spring is on the way. They are among the earliest plants to flower each year, and we’re lucky to have these beautiful shrubs growing wild across our campus.

Their blossoms have a wonderfully unique fragrance, often compared to grape bubblegum or grape Kool‑Aid. Walking across our 65‑acre campus, the sweet grape scent fills the air and makes the arrival of spring feel even more special.

San Marcos Treatment Center was a platinum sponsor for the School Fuel Fill the Sack 5K last weekend. The San Marcos-based nonprofit organization distributes a nutritious sack of food each weekend of the school year. They are feeding 1,300 students this year, grades K-11.

Over 75% of San Marcos School District students qualify for free or reduced meals at school and go home to little or no food. San Marcos Treatment Center shares the same belief that children who are food insecure perform at lower levels in school. Nutrition is necessary in order for children to be the best they can be.

Congratulations to our staff who participated in the race. We had three ribbon winners, including Ms. Perez, Ms. Girdy and one of our psychiatrists, Dr. Batenburg, who placed first in her age group. Congrats to our winners! 🏆
