Please join us in welcoming our new veterinarian Dr. Germaine Germundson!❤️🐶

Dr. Germundson grew up in Carlsbad, California, and spent part of her childhood in Switzerland, where her passion for veterinary medicine began at an early age. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University in January 2026, completing her clinical training at Cornell University.
Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Germundson spent eight years working as an emergency and critical care veterinary technician in Carlsbad alongside Dr. Todd Bowdre. Her extensive background in emergency medicine shaped her clinical interests and strengthened her commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care. She is excited to reunite with Dr. Bowdre at San Marcos Boulevard Veterinary & Urgent Care, bringing her experience, dedication, and genuine love for animals back to the community she calls home.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Germundson enjoys traveling, rescuing and fostering kittens, and spending time with her four beloved cats: Bug, Amethyst, Blossom, and Gilda.

Check out this foxtail find!🐱

This owner found Whiskers with a severe eye issue and presented to San Marcos Blvd Veterinary Hospital and Urgent Care. The staff here was able to quickly diagnose and remove a huge foxtail!!

Whiskers was discharged home with some medication and has had a great recovery.❤️‍🩹

Little Mocha came to us with a fractured leg after an accident 💔

After repairing her fracture with our board certified surgeon and guiding her through recovery, she’s now back to walking, playing and being a happy puppy again! 🐶

Fracture can be serious and scary but we are here to help! 💙🤍

Hello Everyone!

We’re so excited to welcome Dr. Chelsea Iverach to our veterinary team! Dr. Iverach graduated from the University of Sydney in 2020 and has a special interest in emergency and urgent care medicine. She is passionate about helping pets feel better when they need it most and enjoys working closely with pet owners to ensure they understand their pet’s health and treatment options.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Iverach loves spending time outdoors—whether hiking, horseback riding, working in her garden, or enjoying the California coast with her husband, Ty, and their fur baby, Mickey.

We had 8 absolutely adorable puppies come into the hospital recently and we’re still not over it😭💗

These guys got all of their shots updated and handled it like champ!!

This adventurous girl recently broke her leg after having way too much fun😅

Luckily, we got her in right away! Ruby had a successful fracture repair with our board certified surgeon and is cruising through recovery with her weekly splints. She’s handling everything like a champ and doing better every week! 🐶❤️
