Student Health & Counseling Services: HOPE & Wellness Center The HOPE & Wellness Center is an extension of the SHCS department at CSUSM.

The HOPE & Wellness Center offers information, educational counseling, support, resources, and/or referral services for:

* Alcohol and other drugs
* Contraception
* Dating and domestic violence
* Eating disorders
* HIV and other sexually transmitted infections
* Nutrition and fitness
* Relationships
* Sexual assault and r**e
* Sexual harassment
* Sexual health
* Smoking cessation
* Stress management
* And other health issues

In honor of Su***de Prevention Month this September, all of us from the Student Health and Counseling Services would like to invite students and community members to this year's Su***de Prevention Candlelight Vigil on September 24th from 5:15-7:15 pm at the Forum Plaza.

The event's purpose is to hold space for those impacted by su***de, spread awareness of how to support ourselves and others, and hold a candlelight vigil to honor those who lost their lives to su***de. 🩵💜

There will be on-campus centers and local organizations tabling resources related to mental health.

Join us for free resources, self-care activities, and art activities.

Counselors will be present at the event if you have any questions or would like to talk to them.

🩵The SHCS offers individual and group therapy. Call (760) 750-2915 to make an appointment. Press option 2 to speak with a 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Counselor

Recovery is possible, and no one has to go through it alone. This month is an opportunity to recognize the many different paths recovery can take and remind anyone who may be struggling that hope and support are available.

Our incredible Student Health & Counseling Services (SHCS) Nurses have been officially recognized with a San Diego County Proclamation for their outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to the health and well-being of our campus and the broader San Diego community.
 
In honor of their dedication, this week has been proclaimed “CSUSM Student Health Nurse Clinic Week” throughout San Diego County.
