💙 TOOLS TUESDAY: What Can You Do When You Cannot Wind Down at Night? 🌙✨

Having trouble quieting your mind and settling down for sleep? You’re not alone! Sometimes, a tired body and a busy mind make it difficult to unwind.

This , we’re sharing simple ways to help you relax and prepare for rest:

🌙 Stop checking the time.
📱 Dim the lights and put your phone away.
📝 Write down your thoughts and worries.
💆 Relax your body by releasing tension in your jaw and shoulders.
🌬️ Practice gentle breathing, breathing out longer than you breathe in.
📖 Try a calming activity, like reading or listening to something soothing.

💚 Remember: Rest still matters, even when sleep takes time. You don’t have to force yourself to fall asleep. Give yourself permission to slow down and take things one step at a time.

If sleep difficulties continue or begin affecting your daily life, reaching out to a healthcare professional can help.

At Su***de Prevention Services of America, we believe mental health includes caring for yourself in the little moments, too. Take a deep breath, give yourself grace, and remember that you deserve rest. 💚

From our community partners Pacific Islander Community Partnership (PICP)

Instead of "Spring Cleaning" it's a great time for some "Autumn Purging" to ready our closets for the New Year.

👟 PICP 60-DAY SHOE DRIVE ‼️ WE’RE ALREADY OFF TO A GREAT START!

We officially kick off November 1, and we’re so grateful that community members have already reached out and started donating shoes 🧡!

Our goal is BIG: 2,500 pairs of new and gently used shoes by December 30 so we can prepare them for shipment and help provide shoes to families and individuals in need.

👟 Clean out your closets.
👟 Get your family, friends, workplace, church or organization involved.
👟 Help us spread the word.
📍 And holler at us if you’d like to be a drop-off site!

Every pair gets us one step closer to 2,500!

📅 November 1 - December 30, 2026

🌺📊 NAVIGATING OUR FUTURE 🌺🌊✨️

‼️ For too long, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander communities have been left out of the data — making our 📖 stories, needs, and 💪🏽 strengths invisible in conversations that shape ⚖️ policy, 💲 funding and 🩻 health🩺 outcomes.

That’s why the UCLA Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Data Policy Lab at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research has been doing transformative work alongside NHPI communities to close data gaps, strengthen community power, and ensure our people are finally seen in the numbers. 🌴✨

✊🏾 Join us on Thursday, May 28 as the UCLA NHPI Data Policy Lab unveils its NEW & IMPROVED NHPI Social Determinants of Health Dashboard — featuring county-level data that helps tell the story of our communities through:

📍 Demographics
📍 Disability
📍 Economic Indicators
📍 Education
📍 Health
📍 Housing
📍 Veteran Status

📊 Using data from CHIS, the American Community Survey, and the U.S. Census, select topics can also be explored by NHPI subgroup, including:

🌺 CHamorro
🌺 Fijian
🌺 Native Hawaiian
🌺 Samoan
🌺 Tongan

This powerful webinar will also feature community voices in action:

✨ ‘Alisi Tulua, Executive Director of
✨ Luci Latu, Assistant Director of

Together, they’ll share how culturally grounded and accessible data strengthens advocacy, storytelling, funding, planning, and visibility for the communities they serve. 💛

Because data is more than numbers — it is POWER, REPRESENTATION, and the ABILITY TO FIGHT for healthier futures for our people.
