Many parents think feeding problems begin and end with the mouth.
But feeding is actually a full-body process.
A baby needs coordinated movement of the tongue, jaw, neck, spine, diaphragm, and nervous system just to nurse efficiently.
That’s why babies with feeding challenges often also struggle with:
• reflux
• gas
• body tension
• head preference
• difficulty settling
• shallow latch
• poor weight gain
Sometimes helping feeding starts by looking at the whole baby-not just the latch.
