:: Growing Together ::

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Sandpoint Library for the Infant Care Q & A this weekend.

One of the things we were reminded of is how valuable it is when families have a place to ask questions, share experiences, and connect with local providers and one another.

Hosted by the Birth & Baby Collective, this event brought together practitioners from several disciplines who share a common goal: supporting babies, parents, and caregivers during the earliest stages of life.

We are excited to continue growing these conversations, strengthening community connections, and expanding opportunities for education and support in the months ahead.

Thank you to the Sandpoint Library and the Natural Connections organizers for creating space for these important discussions.

With gratitude,

Sandpoint Medical Massage & Bodyworks

Expecting a baby? Caring for an infant? Wondering if what you're experiencing is normal?

The Mama Baby Collective will be hosting a free Infant Care Q & A at the East Bonner County Library District as part of the Natural Connections event on Saturday, June 13.

This will be a supportive, judgment-free space for parents and caregivers to ask questions about feeding, sleep, movement, development, and the many changes that come during a baby's first year.

We'll be discussing neurological and musculoskeletal development, common concerns, and ways to support healthy growth — while creating plenty of space for conversation and community.

:: Seasons of Transition ::

One of the unique gifts of a long-standing practice is the relationships that develop over time.

Therapists become familiar faces. Clients walk through seasons of life together. Babies grow into children. Families expand. New opportunities emerge.

This summer, we are delighted to welcome back Lucia Coupal and Cory Nowlin to our team. We are grateful for the experience, care, and presence they bring to our community.

At the same time, we are celebrating two meaningful transitions.

Erin Phillips has relocated to Baltimore, where she has begun training to become a Physician Assistant. We are deeply grateful for the care she shared with our clients over the past two years and wish her all the best in this next chapter.

Chelsea Wilson has recently welcomed a baby girl and is taking time away from the office to be with her growing family during this special season.

We feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside such talented, dedicated, and compassionate practitioners. Thank you to all of the therapists who help make this community what it is.

With appreciation,

The Sandpoint Medical Massage & Bodyworks Team

:: Still Worth Wondering About ::

One of the unexpected gifts of working with the human body is realizing how often familiar things become new again.

A heartbeat.

The warmth of skin.

The way the body responds to touch.

The way different systems communicate with one another.

We've spent the last few months exploring the integumentary and cardiovascular systems, and we're still finding ourselves with more questions than answers.

Which, in many ways, is part of the point.

Curiosity keeps us learning.

And the body keeps giving us reasons to continue.

:: Twenty Square Feet ::

Your skin is the largest organ in your body.

On average, it covers about twenty square feet.

It serves as a protective barrier, a sensory system, and one of the primary ways you experience the world around you.

As bodyworkers, it is also the system we interact with most directly.

The more we learn about the skin, the more remarkable it becomes.

And the more reasons we find to appreciate the body we live in every day.

We are excited to be part of this year’s Natural Connections event at the Sandpoint Library.

Hosted by the Mama Baby Collective, this gathering will explore topics including feeding, sleep, neurological development, musculoskeletal development, and the many questions that arise in the early months of life.

One of the things we value most about this work is helping families feel more connected, informed, and supported as they learn about their babies and themselves.

:: Seeking Licensed Massage Therapists ::

Over the years, Sandpoint Medical Massage & Bodyworks has become home to a diverse community of clients — from newborns to elders, from those seeking support through major life transitions to those simply looking for greater connection with their bodies.

As our practice continues to serve this growing community, we are interested in connecting with additional licensed massage therapists who feel aligned with our approach.

We value curiosity, professionalism, continued learning, and a deep respect for the complexity of the human body.

Our work is rooted in relationship — with our clients, with one another, and with the ongoing study of the body itself.

If that resonates with you, we welcome you to reach out and send your resume.

:: Rhythms and Sunlight ::

A day like today doesn’t come around every week this time of year.

The warmth of sunlight, the shift in temperature, the feeling of air on your skin — the body notices all of it.

One of the things we’ve been reflecting on lately in our study of the cardiovascular system is how responsive and interconnected the body truly is.

The heart is not simply a pump. It is rhythmic, electrically active, and in constant communication with the rest of the body.

There is an ongoing conversation happening within us all the time.

Days like today can be a quiet reminder to slow down enough to notice it.
