McKenzie Health System McKenzie's experienced and knowledgeable healthcare professionals are dedicated to providing exceptional care!

McKenzie Health System Hospital Campus is a Level IV Trauma Center and is HFAP Stroke Certified. We provide emergency care, inpatient care, and outpatient services. McKenzie Health System's acute care (inpatient) unit can accommodate 25 patients that require daily nursing care following an illness, surgery or visit to the Emergency Room (ER).The ER is open 24/7/365, Main Entrance open 6am-11pm. Outpatient Clinic open 7am-5pm.The swing bed program at is a federally approved program enabling small, rural hospitals to provide 24-hour skilled nursing care. The swing bed program allows for patients to transition or & ;swing& ; from an acute level of care to a skilled nursing or rehabilitation level of care.We are staffed with an elite group of physicians who are onsite 24/7 to provide Emergency Care as well as inpatient care. The Outpatient Department at McKenzie Health System works with patients and providers to schedule and prepare patients for various services.

For Ruth Potter, recovering close to home meant everything. 💙

After a sudden medical emergency, a broken ankle and a pacemaker procedure, Ruth needed inpatient rehabilitation before she could safely return home. Having spent nearly her entire life in Sanilac County, she knew exactly where she wanted that recovery to happen.

During her 20-day stay in McKenzie Health System’s Swing Bed Program, Ruth received physical, occupational and speech therapy while her care team helped with the everyday needs that allowed her to focus on getting stronger.

“The staff was so accommodating,” Ruth shared. “From young to old, everyone was very kind.”

Today, Ruth continues to receive her care locally and says she would recommend the Swing Bed Program without hesitation.
