πŸŒ• My Kind of Sweet Nightcap! πŸ’—πŸŒΏ

You know that feeling at the end of the day when you’re finally winding down and craving just a little something sweet?

I know it well!

Instead of reaching for a sugary snack, I’ve been creating a different kind of nighttime ritual.

Tonight, it’s my doTERRA prebiotic fiber with a drop each of Roman Chamomile and On Guard essential oils.

And I love learning about the WHY behind what I’m putting into my body!

🌿 Prebiotic Fiber: We’re not just feeding ourselves; we’re feeding the trillions of microorganisms that call our gut home! Certain prebiotic fibers help beneficial bacteria produce short-chain fatty acids that nourish our intestinal lining and support digestive and immune health.

🌸 Roman Chamomile: Traditionally associated with relaxation and digestive comfort, chamomile contains fascinating plant compounds and has a sweet taste.

πŸ›‘οΈ On Guard: A blend of Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary. These plants contain naturally occurring compounds studied for their antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.

But here’s what I really want to share…

Wellness isn’t always about what we’re adding. Sometimes it’s about what we’re choosing to replace.

For me, this is about recognizing an evening craving and finding a way to create a new habit.

It’s about being intentional with my choices, supporting my gut microbiome, and taking a moment to slow down.

Because our gut, brain, and nervous system are beautifully interconnected.

And those small, consistent choices add up.

Tonight, I’m choosing nourishment, intention, and a little sweetness without the sugary dessert.

The Pause under this Full πŸŒ•
Take time to nourish yourself and release what no longer serves us.

What do you find yourself craving at the end of the day? Something sweet, something salty, or just a moment of peace? Have a restful night

This morning’s reading really resonated with me. 🌿

Living in harmony doesn’t mean life is always peaceful or that we have everything figured out.

It’s about learning to stay grounded in who we are, trusting the journey, and recognizing when our mind, body, and spirit are asking us to slow down.

The more I learn about the connection between our nervous system, our thoughts, our emotions, and our overall well-being, the more I realize just how important these little moments of awareness really are.

This is so much of what inspires my work at The Apotho’Corrie. Wellness isn’t just about what we put into our bodies. It’s also about how we live, what we carry, what we believe, and how we care for ourselves along the way.

Sometimes restoring balance begins with something as simple as a pause, a little faith, and the intention to reconnect with ourselves. πŸ’—

What is one thing that helps bring you back into balance?

Wellness doesn’t have to start with a complete lifestyle overhaul. It starts with one choice.

Lunch outside on this beautiful sunny day! β˜€οΈ

Today’s bowl is filled with dark leafy greens, romaine, hard-boiled eggs, smoked chicken, blueberries, grapes, tomatoes, and avocado. Topped with olive oil, salt, pepper, and a little lemon EO! Yumm

And after lunch? We walk! πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

Here’s the thing I’ve learned about creating healthier habits: Progress matters more than perfection.

On Sunday, between football games, we smoked two whole chickens, portioned them out, and washed and prepped our fruits and vegetables for the week.

Did it take time? Absolutely. But now, when life gets busy, nourishing our bodies is convenient instead of complicated.

And it wasn’t always a routine. It started with making one small change, then another.

That’s what I want people to understand about wellness and preventive care. You don’t have to change everything overnight. You don’t have to wait until Monday, until you lose weight or start again, or until life slows down.

Start where you are, with what you have.

Maybe today it’s drinking another glass of water, stepping outside for some sunshine, eating a nourishing meal, taking a 10-minute walk, or simply giving yourself permission to rest.

Those little choices add up. Eventually, what once took effort becomes part of how you live.

🌿 So I’m curious… What’s ONE thing you’re already doing for your wellness, or one thing you’d like to start?

Share below! You might just inspire someone else to take their first step. πŸ’—βœ¨

What if the symptoms that seem unrelated…aren’t?

After four days immersed in an EDS conference and retreat in Wisconsin learning through CST, osteofascial integration, and conversations with people living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome…one message confirmed!

The body is whole and completely connected.

EDS and hypermobility-related conditions can involve much more than simply being β€œreally flexible.”

Joint instability, Pain, Fatigue, Poor proprioception, GI concerns, Dizziness and autonomic symptoms, TMJ and dental issues, Pelvic-floor concerns, Headaches, Migraines, Vascular issues, Neurodivergence and many other experiences that may not be visible to anyone else.

And that’s an important part of understanding chronic and invisible conditions:

Someone can look completely fine and still be using a tremendous amount of energy just to get through their day.

πŸ₯„ β€œHow many spoons do you have today?” This was something that I heard for the first time while in WI.

One concept used within chronic-illness communities is Spoon Theory.

Imagine starting each day with a limited number of spoons, with each spoon representing some of your available physical, mental or emotional energy.

Showering costs a spoon.
Driving costs a spoon.
Working may cost several.
Managing pain, concentrating, cooking dinner or being social may take even more.

For someone whose body is already working hard to maintain stability and manage symptoms, those spoons may disappear quickly.

Instead of having to repeatedly explain β€œI don’t feel well” when they may look perfectly fine, they can simply say:

β€œI’m low on spoons today.”

It’s not a medical measurement. It’s a language that helps make an invisible experience easier to communicate.

This is where the mind-body connection matters.

Our bodies aren’t collections of isolated parts.

Connective tissue and fascia create continuity throughout the body. Structure influences function. The nervous system influences how we perceive and respond to our environment. And our physical experiences can influence how safe, guarded or exhausted we feel.

That understanding is becoming an even bigger part of how I guide people at The Apotho’Corrie.

Through gentle approaches such as CranioSacral work and Osteofascial Integration, my role isn’t to force the body into a position or β€œfix” someone.

It’s to listen.

Notice patterns of tension and ease.
To respect the body’s boundaries or lack of. Work gently through layers of tissue.
To create space for relaxation and nervous-system regulation and to support greater body awareness while honoring each person’s individual needs.

Especially with hypermobility, more movement isn’t always the answer.

Sometimes the body may benefit from less force, more awareness and a practitioner who understands that flexibility and stability are not the same thing.

That’s the kind of care I want to continue bringing into my work:

Look beyond the symptom.
Listen to the whole person.
Connect the pieces.
And support the body rather than fight against it.

Because looking well isn’t necessarily the same as feeling well.

And sometimes one of the most powerful things we can offer another person is simply:

β€œI believe you. What does your body need today?” πŸ₯„πŸŒΏ

A long drive home gave some time to sit with this past week.

This trip reminded me why I started all of this. πŸ’œ

We headed to Orlando for Convention with coolers packed, food prepped, bags loaded, and excitement for a few days of learning, connecting, and making memories.

We walked a LOT of miles with our teammates, laughed and made new friends, dressed up for the Gala, even had Corporate stop by the house to encourage us and show their appreciation, and of course, I completely nerded out over the science. πŸ€“πŸŒΏ

Metabolism, Mental Health, Hormones, the Microbiome, Biotransformation, Nutrition, Essential oils and Clinical research… πŸ’œ I don’t just want to know what something does. I want to understand why and how it works within the body.

And somewhere in between all that learning, we made time to play too. Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars, ridiculous 3D glasses, laughter, and memories with some pretty cool people.

But our trip ended earlier than planned.

We packed up and started the drive home because we wanted to be home to honor close friends who are family at their celebrations of life.

Driving in the mountains looking at the moon πŸŒ• I was overcome with emotion sobbing, all the learning from this week collided with the reason I became so passionate about this work in the first place. 🀍

I’ve spent the last 16 years as a nurse caring for people during some of the hardest moments of their lives. I’ve stood at the bedside through chronic illness, cancer, heart disease, unexpected diagnoses, trauma and heartbreaking goodbyes.

I will always be grateful to be a nurse and be witness and their for patients and families during these times.

But after all these years, my heart keeps asking:

What if we could meet people sooner?

What if we didn’t wait until everything felt wrong to become curious about our bodies?

Natural health doesn’t have to be a last resort.

We can decide at any point that we want to understand our body better, nourish it differently, improve sleep, support digestion, move more, manage stress, regulate our nervous system, or simply become more intentional about how you’re living.

You don’t have to overhaul your entire life.

We just have to be willing to take the next step from wherever you are.

And that is really my why behind The Apotho’Corrie.

I’m not here to promise that one oil, supplement, diet, or protocol fixes everything. I’m not here to replace medicine or your doctor.

I want to help bridge the gap between the bedside and everyday life.

To educate. To ask questions. To help people understand their options. To walk beside someone who says, β€œI know I want something different for my health, but I don’t know where to start.”

Because I’m still learning too. I’m still working on my own health. I’m still figuring things out right alongside everyone else. Imperfect progress with grace and consistency.

This week filled my notebook with science, research, and new ideas.

Coming home filled my heart with the reminder of why I care so much about learning it.

Life is so short. Our bodies are precious. And our people are irreplaceable.

Love them. Make the memories. Take the pictures. Take care of yourself along the way.

Natural health doesn’t have to feel like a last resort. Your next step can start wherever you are. πŸ’—βœ¨πŸŒΏ
