Join us for Culver's Care Night on Tuesday, August 11, from 5:00 PM–8:00 PM!
Enjoy a delicious meal while supporting Open Door Rehabilitation Center. During Care Night, a percentage of all proceeds will be donated to Open Door to help support the services and opportunities we provide in our community.
This event is also a wonderful opportunity for some of our Community Integrated Employment (CIE) Program participants to gain valuable volunteer experience. You'll see them helping the Culver's team by wiping down tables and chairs, delivering food to customers, and sharing their friendly smiles throughout the evening.
Every meal purchased makes a difference! Bring your family and friends, enjoy great food, and help support inclusion, community involvement, and meaningful opportunities for the individuals we serve.

What a great evening at the Sugar Grove Corn Boil last Friday! 🌽🎉

Some of us had the opportunity to attend and enjoy a fun night filled with great food, community, and wonderful memories. We love seeing everyone out and about, connecting with others, and taking part in local events.

🎨✨ Creativity was on full display during our trip to Arts on Fire Plano "Paint Your Own Pottery" ! ✨🎨
Some of us had a wonderful time choosing and painting their own ceramic masterpieces. From bright colors and unique designs to lots of smiles and laughter, everyone enjoyed expressing their creativity and making something special to take home.
Community outings like these are about so much more than art—they're opportunities to build confidence, make choices, strengthen friendships, and create lasting memories.
A big thank you to Art's on Fire for providing such a welcoming and fun experience. We can't wait to see our finished creations!

We celebrated National Cherry Day last week!

We celebrated with a classic cherry-inspired treat! ❤️ Some of us enjoyed refreshing Shirley Temple drink paired with pudding and topped with chocolate covered cherries for a sweet finishing touch.

There were plenty of smiles as everyone enjoyed this simple and delicious way to celebrate the day. Here's to making everyday moments a little sweeter!

Beyond meeting everyday needs, they build meaningful relationships, encourage independence, teach daily living skills, and provide companionship that helps individuals feel confident and supported. Whether it's assisting with morning routines, preparing favorite meals, maintaining a clean and welcoming home, or offering a listening ear, our Residential DSPs make a lasting difference in the lives of the people we serve. Our DSPs help individuals build independence, confidence, and meaningful connections by planning engaging activities, teaching daily living skills, encouraging social interaction, and supporting participation in the community. Whether it's volunteering, visiting local businesses, attending community events, exploring parks and museums, or developing job and life skills, our DSPs help create opportunities for the people we serve to live active, fulfilling lives. Nothing brightens a day quite like spending time with our furry friends! 🐶🐹💙

Animal therapy has brought so many smiles to Open Door lately! We were lucky enough to enjoy a visit from an adorable puppy, and now we're spending the summer babysitting some sweet guinea pigs from the Somonauk/Leland/Sandwich Future Farmers of America!

Whether it's cuddles, gentle pets, or simply watching their funny little personalities, these animal friends provide comfort, joy, and plenty of laughter. We are so thankful to the Somonauk/Leland/Sandwich Future Farmers of America for trusting us to care for their guinea pigs this summer. We have been loving every minute of it!
