Meet Monica Guzman, Brooke Grove Rehabilitation & Nursing Center’s LIFE Illustrator of the Month! 🌟

As an Environmental Services Associate on Rehab 1, Monica is a trusted and dependable member of the Brooke Grove team. She consistently demonstrates an incredible work ethic and a deep commitment to supporting residents, nursing staff, and her colleagues.

Even when language presents a challenge, Monica has a remarkable ability to understand the needs of those around her. Through her attentiveness, reliability, and dedication, she helps keep the unit running smoothly and contributes to an environment where teamwork and excellent care can thrive.

We’re taking a moment to celebrate our incredible Environmental Services team! 💙

During Housekeeping Week last month, our team enjoyed a week of lunches from local restaurants, thoughtful treats, and plenty of appreciation from the Brooke Grove family.

Team members also received Brooke Grove shirts, generously provided by Gorman’s Garments & Gear. 👕 Thank you for helping us make the week extra special!

Most of all, thank you to our Environmental Services team for all they do each day to help keep Brooke Grove welcoming, comfortable, and cared for. And thank you to the entire Brooke Grove family for your kindness and support throughout the week! 💙

Brooke Grove joined the National Capital Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Washington, D.C., bringing together members of our Independent Living community and staff to walk, remember, and raise funds in support of the Alzheimer's Association.

Led by Co-Captain Andrea Rattigan, our Brooke Grove team came together with a shared commitment to supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

The day held a special moment for Brooke Grove as our Chairman of the Board represented our community on stage during the opening ceremonies and Promise Garden Ceremony, carrying the orange flower, which represents those who support the mission of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementias.

"As we planned this year's ceremony, you and Brooke Grove have been on our minds, and we would be honored to invite you to hold the orange flower on stage. We feel it would be a beautiful way to recognize you and Brooke Grove's support and dedication year over year for our mission," shared Emily Rankin, Development Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association’s National Capital Area Chapter.

Brooke Grove has raised more than $530,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association over the years, and we’re not finished yet. Our current team goal is $20,000, and we’re about halfway there. Donations will continue to be accepted through the end of December.

🐐 Assisted Living Week brought some very special visitors to Brooke Grove!

Residents, families, and team members enjoyed an afternoon at the petting zoo on September 14, creating opportunities for meaningful animal interactions, socialization, reminiscence, and sensory engagement.

For our residents, experiences like these can support emotional well-being while creating opportunities to connect, engage, and make new memories. And there was certainly no shortage of smiles and laughter along the way! ❤️

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this such a memorable part of Assisted Living Week.

🎉 Assisted Living Week was filled with fun, connection, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate our Brooke Grove team!

Throughout the week, team members joined in on special activities, including a raffle drawing and a “Guess How Many” Hershey Kisses game.

During National Assisted Living Week, we’re shining a special light on the entire Brooke Grove Assisted Living team, including the dedicated staff who care for our residents while the rest of the world is sleeping. 🌙

Our nighttime team plays an essential role in providing comfort, care, and support throughout the night, helping ensure our residents feel safe and cared for around the clock.
