Extremely disappointed with Trupanion. I signed up my 1.5-year-old Shorkie four months ago and have already paid over $500 in vet bills on top of monthly premiums, yet every single claim has been denied.They use broad pre-existing condition loopholes to avoid paying out. Because my puppy had mild constipation in the past, they denied a completely unrelated, urgent claim for bloody diarrhea, claiming all gastrointestinal issues are now pre-existing. They also denied coverage for an allergy shot because of minor past itching. Puppies get into things and get itchy for temporary reasons like fleas or seasonal changes, but Trupanion uses any past symptom to block future coverage.Unless your pet has a catastrophic emergency, do not expect this insurance to cover standard puppy health issues. It has been a waste of money.”
