Meet the one and only Maxine Trujillo — better known around here as ✨Grandma Bling✨

Vibrant, stylish, hilarious, and full of life, Maxine brings so much joy, laughter, and sparkle to Cedarwood at Sandy every single day. At Cedarwood, we are always looking for meaningful ways to bring our residents together and create opportunities for connection, laughter, and friendship. 💙

We know that in senior living communities, men are often outnumbered, which can sometimes make social engagement a little more challenging. With that in mind, we’ve been intentionally exploring creative ways to help our gentlemen connect with one another in a comfortable and enjoyable setting.

Yesterday, we hosted our very first Men’s Only Dinner — and it was a huge success! The turnout was wonderful, the conversations were lively, and the sense of camaraderie in the room was exactly what we had hoped for. It was truly a great evening of connection and community.

Because of the positive response, we are excited to look at making this a monthly event moving forward!

We are always open to ideas and feedback from residents, families, and friends. If you have suggestions for activities or events that could help foster engagement within our community, we would love to hear them. Your input helps us continue building a vibrant and connected Cedarwood family. 💙

Following Margaret Timoney’s incredible 103rd birthday celebration, we wanted to share a little more about the extraordinary woman behind the beautiful smile. 💜

Margaret grew up in Richfield, Utah, and was attending nursing school during World War II when she married her husband, Raymond Timoney, in 1943. Raymond proudly served with The Atomic Bomb Group and flew aboard the historic “Enola Gay” B-29 bomber.

Margaret dedicated 35 years of her life as an OB/GYN nurse, caring for countless mothers and babies with compassion and grace. Beyond her nursing career, she devoted endless hours volunteering with the Girl Scouts of America, continuing her lifelong passion for service and community.

One of the sweetest parts of Margaret’s story is that her very best friend since the age of 6 recently turned 103 as well — a friendship spanning nearly an entire century. Their remarkable bond even caught the attention of Fox News, who featured a special story about them. Governor Cox was honored to spend time with these two amazing women and is pictured alongside them.

Margaret often shares how much she enjoys life at Cedarwood and the relationships she has built with our wonderful staff and residents. We feel incredibly lucky to be a small part of her journey and honored to celebrate a woman whose life has touched so many.

Thank you, Margaret, for your service, your wisdom, your stories, and your beautiful spirit. You are truly one of a kind. ✨
