Today’s topic: Myclobutanil
Uses: Common fungicide that is typically used to control fungal pathogens in Cannabis or H**p flower. Examples include Botrytis (commonly known as Budrot) and Powdery Mildew (PM). Also, Myclobutanil is used on turf and fruit, especially wine and table grapes.
Effects of Consumption: While effective at controlling fungus, adverse health effects can occur. Due to the extreme toxicity death can result if ingested and/or inhaled. Additionally, serious rashes or eye damage can occur if skin contact is made. While not always immediate, detrimental effects to the respiratory system from long-term exposure can arise.
Why it’s used and tested?With fungal insecticides posing threats to cultivations for PM and Budrot, it’s a common pesticide used to treat plants. While it can be helpful to the plants, it’s detrimental to users that will eventually consume the flower. Small action limits are present in the state of California from legal producers. Additionally, unregulated cultivations that operate outdoor and large-scale operations, with no intent of meeting these action limits, can lead to dangerously toxic levels.
