Happy DAF Day!

Did you know your Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) can help create brighter futures for children with visual impairments and other disabilities?

A DAF is one of the simplest and most impactful ways to support the causes you care about. By recommending a grant to Beyond Blindness, you can help provide life-changing therapies, family support, early intervention services, camps, and programs that empower children to reach their fullest potential.

In honor of CVI Awareness Day, we're sharing insights from our Therapy Manager, Hannah, who attended this year's CVI Conference.
Simple strategies can make a meaningful difference for children with Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI):

✔ Reduce visual complexity
✔ Allow extra processing time
✔ Minimize competing sensory input
✔ Use color and movement with purpose

An estimated 1 in 30 children may be experiencing challenges with brain-based visual processing without anyone realizing it. The more we understand CVI, the better we can support children, meet them where they are, and help them access learning and everyday experiences with confidence.

💙 Today, let's raise awareness, foster understanding, and advocate for children with CVI.

Did you know that Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) is the leading cause of childhood visual impairment in the United States?

CVI is a brain-based visual impairment that affects how the brain processes visual information. Because every child experiences CVI differently, understanding and individualized support are essential.

This CVI Awareness Month, we're helping shine a light on the unique ways children with CVI experience the world and the importance of early intervention and specialized services.
