Do you really want to do something, but you feel overpowered with fear?

Does your thoughts stops you from taking action? Are they putting scenarios in your head of what can go wrong? Are the thoughts leading to catastrophizing future events? Maybe you can also observe some changes in your body when it happens? You probably suffer from anxiety.

Let me tell you quickly: anxiety is in all of us! That's right! The question is do you control your anxiety or does it control you?

In order to understand anxiety, it is important to distinguish between the concept of fear and anxiety. Fear is the reaction a person experiences when there is an actual threat or an imagined threat while anxiety is the anticipation process of a future possible threat.

What is a trauma?⁠

A trauma is the result of a highly stressful and intense (not typical) experience triggering clusters of symptoms that are difficult to cope without the appropriate treatment. ⁠

When trauma occurs, imagine that the brain becomes stuck like a CD used to do and would play the same tone over and over again. As a result, the brain "believes" that there is a continuous and constant imminent danger and it maintains the body in fear.⁠

In other words, a trauma may include the same bodily reaction to a threat, which is the expected response when someone is in real danger. However, in the case of trauma, the threat of a real danger is not present. ⁠
