We’re working hard to raise urgently needed funds to expand our programs and partnerships in 2023 with an end of year goal to raise $50,000 - you can help us get there!

Check out our Plantsgiving Online Auction to bid on exciting local items and packages from beloved restaurants, food businesses, health and wellness brands, photography, fashion and more! You can also donate to our community impact drive and help us fund the addition of new recipes to our website, an educator for a single class, curriculum development, partnerships with community nonprofits, and a healthcare professional nutrition certificate program to grow educators and champions for plant-based nutrition in our community.

We need your support - bid and give today! The auction closes at 8:00 pm (PST) on November 29th, Giving Tuesday.

Honored to have our work with featured in the current “Give Thanks - Give Back” issue of . We’ve been pouring our souls into this work for the last few years and to start seeing the impact and the awareness spread is humbling and hopeful.

We’re mobilizing Santa Barbara County to grow health equity and resilience through whole food plant-based nutrition education and support. And to build this entirely new approach to preventative health from a systemic standpoint takes time, passion, patience and deep collaboration. We are so grateful to the community partners who have already linked arms with us as we strive forward each and every day.

If you’re interested in learning more about our work, ways to support us or volunteer - please reach out. We just kicked off our Take Root Campaign to raise $500k in the next 18-months and are hosting our first fundraiser this coming week. So much to be grateful for and excited about!

😽🌭🥥… these three body parts have more slang terms than you could possibly imagine - well over 100 each, in the English language alone, and yet most people know so little about their own actual body parts, it’s shocking. As the daughter of a mother dealing with breast cancer and as the mother of a daughter dealing with puberty and as a “she, her, ella” (married to a “he, him, fella”) who is also staring down the barrel of peri menopause - I cannot tell you how indispensable and important these three books have become to me (plus Jen Gunter]’s the menopause manifesto).

These body parts literally create and give life to new humans (plus a whole lot of other stuff) but most people couldn’t tell you a whole lot about them, how to care for them, their various parts, their likes and dislikes and their variable idiosyncrasies - yet they’ll google solutions to everyday issues and truly believe that the internet has all of the answers. 🌮🐍👭

If you’re tired of the noise and spending loads of money on quick fixes to minor issues or worse - believing bu****it social media influencers trying to flog solutions to problems you didn’t even know you had over respected doctors and surgeons - do yourself a favor and add all three of the books to your home libraries. You won’t be disappointed and I promise you, you’ll learn some awesome stuff about your tender parts 🍩👈🏽🏔

Thank you Jen Gunter] for keeping it real and telling it straight 👛🍌🍈

Cooking for 17 is always a challenge especially when in a new country and a new kitchen. Language barriers, availability of ingredients, getting to know new stores, selection of knives & tools and accommodating different pallets. My trick is to make a number of items but make sure they’re as simple as can be and never be afraid to incorporate pre-made / pre-chopped ingredients and/or canned foods and also keep each recipe to less than 5 ingredients.

Here’s our mezze offering:
• 3 store-bought hummus - regular, beet and curry carrot.
• lemon, mint & parsley tabouleh with cucumber.
• tahini and white balsamic dressing
• watermelon & tomato salad with salt flakes
• tandoori chickpeas
• roast potatoes
• hearts of palm ceviche
• lentil, artichoke and tomato salad.

Pro Tip: make plenty so you have leftovers for lunch the following day!

Cauliflower & Mushroom Taco Bowls

Clean and chop cauliflower and mushrooms into bite sized pieces. Spritz lightly with a olive or avocado oil spray and toss with ground cumin, garlic, onion, smoked paprika and salt. Pop into a preheated 400° convection oven or air fryer for about 15 minutes.

While that cooks, fill a bowl with lettuce tossed with a little lemon or lime juice, add a spoonful or two with black beans and pre-cooked brown rice, some peppers, and top with a guac, salsa and fresh cilantro. So fresh, so yummy, so deeply satisfying and soooo healthy!!!

Food… it’s the medicine you take 3 times a day - make it delicious and nutritious!

If ever in Zurich, make sure you hit up for a meal (or five!). Pretty sure I post about it on every visit but as the worlds oldest vegetarian restaurant (opened in 1898) it’s worth celebrating each and every time!

With more than 15 spoonfuls of delicious offerings, I barely scratched the surface of what was on offer. Everything is vegetarian and more than half of the items are vegan. Such a treat to be able to indulge in so much goodness.

From my family to yours, wishing you a happy, healthy and laughter-filled holiday season. ☮️🌱💚
