Doswell Rogers signed the Oath of Allegiance to the Commonwealth of Virginia and refused all allegiances to George third King of Great Britain on 30 Sept 1777, enlisting in Cox's Company. Doswell Rogers has been referred to as "old King Daus", a hero of the Revolution. Cox's Company assisted in the defeat of Major Patrick Ferguson's Loyalist on 7 Oct, 1780 at the Battle of King's Mountain. This company fought along side the forces of "lighthorse" Henry Lee's Legion helping to bring about the defeat of Cornwallis at Yorktown . Doswell also served in the same unit as Lt. Daniel Boone, a fellow Longhunter also known as an Overmountain Man.

Sept. 26, 1923 (age 22) Petition for Naturalization renouncing Oath of Allegiance to "Present Government of Germany" and giving it to U.S. Constitution and Laws of the United States of America with witnesses with personal knowledge of him attesting to HJP's good moral character and HJP's being attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States.

Great Great Grandfather, Johann Kroder, is buried in the Kroder Mausoleum in All Faiths Cemetery in Middle Village, New York.
Additional occupants of the mausoleum are his second wife Johanna Hathan Kroder, and their son, John Andrew Kroder. The grave next to this mausoleum has the Hathan gravestone with the parents and brother of Johanna Hathan Kroder.

Went to All Faiths Cemetery in Middle Village, New York and found the grave marker for the Buhler family which included Louise Buhler Kroder, she was lost but now she is found! Also gained information about other family members. A win all the way around!

Going to locations really pays off! Went to the Liederkrantz Club in Manhattan and in the entrance area found this plaque listing Mrs. H. Reubel as a contributor who helped make the new building (in 1949) possible. A great piece of family history information to add to the archives.

Herman Joseph Philipp, MD received the highly regarded Selective Service Medal awarded to uncompensated civilians for service in the agency that administered the military draft during WWII. This medal was from the second printing of 100,000 medals.
