Her thumb pain showed up while driving... You know, the same time you're juggling school drop-offs, work, and your neverending to-do list.

She thought it was something she had to deal with.
But the real issue wasn't even her thumb.

When we actually looked deeper, the stress was coming from her wrist and elbow—and once that was addressed, the pain finally eased up.

As moms, it's easy to ignore those things or push through...
But your body keeps score.

If something has been nagging at you—especially during your daily routine— it might not be"normal" ... And it might be more fixable than you think.

Russel Brand and Heidi Haavik on chiropractic research and the brain.

A patient once told me they were listening to a science based health podcast that concluded that chiropractic care had no research.

My first thought- maybe those podcasters don't know where to look. To help with that, take a little listen to Heidi. She is a premier researcher on chiropractic care and its neurological effects over time, and a great resource. Better to hear directly from the source!

DACBR celebrity sighting!! I remember Dr. Tao from back when I was a wee chiropractic student and he was deep in the radiology diplomate program back in 2005.

Now Dr. Tao teaches x ray for chiropractic continuing education to docs all across the nation as well as provide x Ray reporting services. He even holds his own annual seminar in mammoth!
And me? Well I get to serve on 2 nonprofit boards ( and ) while practicing in my little corner of the Bay area!

All in a swift 21 years... 🤣😭😬

Fun full circle moment with Dr. Deed Harrison and Dr. Joe Ferrentelli with Chiropractic Biophysics. I completed their basic certification back in 2014. I deeply appreciate their continued dedication to pushing the profession forward.

They have dedicated their lives to validate what we do and how we do it by continually producing critical and credible research and integrating latest tech for quick and accurate assessment with detailed measurements.

Most importantly, they're just like us!! (Refer to picture 2) 😆🤣

Cosmic moment in Vegas--

Wednesday we had two hours before we could check in and one hour until we could register for the Parker Seminar, so we naturally decided to test our luck at the pai gow tables (Vanessa was killing with her beginners luck!!). Then this lovely couple joined our table. We had some polite intros of where we were from and before you know it we are making jokes with the dealers and laughing (and winning) together.

The wife then asks the question-- "what do you do?" I of course reply simply with "I'm a chiropractor." Then she leans back and goes "Ooh! My husband's a chiropractor, my dad's a chiropractor, and my son's a chiropractor... We do Gonstead." Jaw. On. Floor.

She goes on to say " We're retired, but actually Jim over there learned directly from Dr. Gonstead. My dad learned from BJ in the 1936." 🙀

How amazing is that??? We happened to fly in Wed this year for the seminar. We happened to sit and play at a pai gow table. They happened to sit at the same table. We happen to get along and have fun while we play. They happen to be not JUST chiropractors too, but LEGACY docs who learned from the SOURCE of not only the technique I have dedicated my 15+ years mastering, but also the developer of the whole chiropractic profession?!?!

If that isn't kismet, I don't know what is!!!

You know what's funny? Just before the chiro talk, I had a straight flush, but didn't bet on the bonus and they had envy bonus, so they each won $20 but felt so bad I didn't get the extra bonus win. Laughed it off and told them I was happy to have won them money even though I lost out on the bonus myself, but they were so compassionate they each gave me $10 😂❣️

Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️

Just wanted to share this bc I thought it was so cool! I’m spending my day at the Oakland Museum of California and found something so cool... a HUGE whale vertebrae! 🐋✨ It was seriously one of the coolest things I saw.

The Oakland Museum of California has all kinds of natural science and history exhibits, and stumbling on something that once belonged to a giant ocean animal was such a treat. Museums like this are full of little wonders that make you look twice!
