Believe it or not, you don't have to wait until school starts to help your child have a smoother transition.
Small routines practiced now can make a big difference in August.
Try introducing one or two of these this week:
✔️ Move bedtime 10–15 minutes earlier every few nights.
📚 Read together for 20 minutes each day.
🎒 Let your child practice packing their backpack.
⏰ Create a simple morning routine.
💬 Talk about what they're excited—or nervous—about for the new school year.
These small, consistent habits help children feel more prepared, confident, and less overwhelmed when the first day arrives.
Remember: Progress doesn't happen all at once. Small steps today can lead to a more successful tomorrow.
If your child has struggled with learning, attention, or organization in the past, summer is also an excellent time to seek answers before the school year begins.
