Having an intrusive thought doesn’t mean what you think it means. 🧠︎
If you’ve ever had a thought so disturbing, violent, or out-of-character that it made you stop in your tracks—you aren't "bad," and you aren't "losing it."
The biggest misconception about intrusive thoughts is that they are secret desires or predictions. In reality, they are just mental noise. They actually tend to target the things you value most. The distress you feel is actually evidence of your good character, not a threat to it. 🛡️
The trap? Trying to "fix" or analyze them. When we react with fear, our brain learns that these glitches are "dangerous," making them come back louder.
The shift: Notice the thought, allow the discomfort, and resist the urge to argue with it.
You don’t have to live in fear of your own mind. If you're feeling stuck in a loop of unwanted thoughts or OCD-related patterns, let’s untangle it together.
