This incredible organ produces hormones like progesterone and estrogen, which are crucial for maintaining pregnancy and preparing the body for labor.

Each placenta has unique DNA, creating a beautiful connection between parents and child. Many cultures honor the placenta with special rituals, recognizing its importance in the birth journey. Some mothers also choose to consume their placenta postpartum, believing it aids recovery and hormonal balance. 💖

How sweet is this little sibling doula? Families often ask us if it’s a good idea to have siblings at birth. We think it’s wonderful. We always suggest that you just appoint someone your child is comfortable with like a trusted friend or grandparent to be available for their needs while mama is busy laboring. But most the time we see siblings in awe of watching mama give birth. It’s a beautiful thing to normalize this for them. This mama coped beautifully with the surges of labor and she credits her tens machine for supporting her through the intensity of labor up until the very end. Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) uses mild electrical impulses to stimulate the nerves and block pain signals from reaching the brain. This non-invasive pain relief method is easy to use: simply place the pads on your lower back, adjust the settings to your comfort, and feel the soothing sensations during contractions. Many women find that it helps reduce anxiety and enhances their sense of control over the birthing process as well as take the “edge off” the intensity of contractions. 💕
