Compassionate skilled midwifery care for Santa Cruz county. We provide comprehensive midwife care for the childbearing year, including well woman visits, prenatal care, home birth and postpartum support. We believe that birth is a normal physiological process and that having the care and support of a midwife leads to reduced interventions in the birth process.

This incredible organ produces hormones like progesterone and estrogen, which are crucial for maintaining pregnancy and preparing the body for labor.

Each placenta has unique DNA, creating a beautiful connection between parents and child. Many cultures honor the placenta with special rituals, recognizing its importance in the birth journey. Some mothers also choose to consume their placenta postpartum, believing it aids recovery and hormonal balance. 💖

How sweet is this little sibling doula? Families often ask us if it’s a good idea to have siblings at birth. We think it’s wonderful. We always suggest that you just appoint someone your child is comfortable with like a trusted friend or grandparent to be available for their needs while mama is busy laboring. But most the time we see siblings in awe of watching mama give birth. It’s a beautiful thing to normalize this for them.
