From Real Fit Mama back in 2013. Was I suggesting with this staging that, now Paleo-ish, she was going to EAT animals like these? In all seriousness, this reminded me that health is a journey - it over time includes experimenting and change. The key is for us to listen to our bodies, our hearts, our minds, and our souls. Balancing the different needs and messages from not just our own selves, but of our children, loved ones, and communities, takes fluidity, receptivity, and willingness to change. The other day in dealing with a recent ankle sprain, I felt a twinge of excitement - I know it’s odd! I thought whoah, something new in my journey. Unexpectedly, my body has an important story to tell me. A mystery to uncover? After the fear: Where will this take me? There was also frustration, irritability, at moments even grief. My process of change. Also, by the way, 8 years later, we're not paleo. Not close, really. We're omnivorous, except for our allergies. After complicating to no end what it means to be healthy, and to eat healthily, I've come to realize separating out eating too much from the rest of life - well - isn't really that healthy. Sometimes I have a tendency to over-complicate things. 🙃 Anyone else?
