these images are my personal check in responses from the first practicum cohort I taught Southwestern College in the fall of 2025. i had just transitioned back to work after becoming a parent 7 months prior. i love teaching & it felt deeply fulfilling to reconnect with this part of my identity. the initiation into parenthood has clarified & affirmed my values, my sense of purpose in this human vessel. mentoring student art therapists as they see clients for the first time has been an immense honor (& responsibility!). i’m continuously inspired by the creativity & empathetic presence my students bring into class, & their clients. when all feels hopeless, as it often can in late stage capitalism/climate crisis, i remember all the people devoted to helping ♥️
