Thyriod and Blood Sugar
If you are taking thyroid medication for hypothyroidism it may effect the blood test for diabetes. Hgb-A1C tests your average blood sugar over 3 months time. Thyroid medication effects the A1C causing a higher level. It is not elevated by your blood sugar. To verify an elevation in blood sugar, also do a fasting blood sugar and a fructosamine. Fructosamine measures blood sugar level over 2 weeks. If FBS and fructosamine are normal, then the elevation in Hgb-A1C is from the thyriod medication. If all are elevated then you do have a blood sugar issue.

OSTEOPOROSIS : Supplements to help bone integrity and matrix

Liquid Minerals: Minerals in general increase the replacement of calcium into you bones. Minerals are magical in that if you need them they taste good. Put a few drops into a glass of water and taste. If it doesn’t change the taste add a few more. If you get too much for you the taste will be unpleasant. If that happens simply add more water to the glass.

Essential Fatty Acids: Fish Oil, Borage Oil and Flax Oil. You can find the combination of these. Combining them will decrease the unpleasant belching that can happen with

Fish Oil supplements. My favorite is Optimal EFAs by Biotics Research.

Antioxidants: Plays a role in prevention. Co Q !0 is the most common and there are many.

Magnesium is a mineral and a good anti inflammatory

Medications to avoid if you have osteoporosis:
Diuretics, Tagamet(Cimetidine) Anti Reflux Drugs to treat heartburn, SSRI, Anti-depressants, Cortisone or Prednisone. If you use any of these you might talk with your medical practitioner to see if there is an alternative for you
