Sunday Services in October

All services are held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, unless otherwise noted. Our regular, weekly meditation service consists of prayer, devotional chanting and approximately 40 minutes of silent meditation.

LOCATION: The Santa Fe Meditation Circle's Sunday services are currently held at the Yoga Shift Studio, at 933 Baca Street. There is parking in the upper lot along Flagman Way, in the front of the building, and in the area to the side and back of the Yoga Studio. Doors close 10:05 am.

Lending Library, second Sunday of each month. SRF books and publications will be available to check out to Circle members and friends.

Celebrating the Birth of Lahiri Mahasaya on October 4

�On Sunday, October 4, please join us for a special service commemorating the birth of Lahiri Mahasaya, paramguru of Paramahansa Yogananda. This service will consist of prayers, inspiration readings, devotional chanting and short periods of meditation. It is customary to bring offerings of a flower and monetary donation.

Worldwide Prayer Circle

On Wednesdays from 7:30-8 p.m., members of the SFMC gather by conference call to participate in the SRF Worldwide Prayer Circle. All devotees are welcome to request prayers for family, friends and world conditions.

Please join us for the special commemorative service honoring the birth of Lord Krishna, Sunday August 20, 2026 at 10 a.m.

During the ceremony, devotees and friends are invited to come forward to the altar to offer a prayer, flower, and donation to our beloved Bhagavan Krishna. Offering flowers will be available at the chapel or you may bring a flower of your own choosing. Monetary donations received during this ceremony will be sent to the Mother Center to be used for sharing the sacred teachings of SRF with other truth-seeking souls.

The Janmashtami commemorative service is a celebration of the birth of Sri Bhagavan Krishna. In celebrating Janmashtami, we join with souls around the world who have been uplifted by his divine love, exemplary life, and the eternal wisdom he conveyed to his disciple Arjuna, in the sacred scripture of the Bhagavad Gita.

Bhagavan Krishna

Paramahansa Yogananda describes the birth of Bhagavan Krishna as a miraculous event filled with divine omens, including flowers blooming at night, birds chirping joyfully, and peacocks dancing, which occurred in a prison cell suffused with a soft glow of light. Krishna, the eighth child of Devaki, was born at the stroke of midnight on Janmashtami (the eighth day of the waning moon in the month of Shravan).

Yogananda emphasizes that Krishna’s life serves as a "golden middle path," demonstrating that one does not need to flee worldly responsibilities but can achieve God-realization while living as a king, husband, and warrior.

A number of SFMC members attended the first ever Self-Realization Kriya Yoga Tour sponsored by the Albuquerque SRF Meditation Group March 19-22, 2026 at the Marriott Hotel in Albuquerque. The gathering was led by SRF Brother Saralananda and Brother Dhyanananda and included a public lecture attended by nearly 300 people. Meditation technique review, a special Kriya Yoga Initiation ceremony, guided meditations and Kriya technique review were part of the event.

Special Kirtan Service
