🎃🧡 Everyone Has a Story: A Little Halloween Magic for Bob!

This week, our Everyone Has a Story gathering was all about sending love and good wishes to our dear friend Bob!

Known for his outgoing personality and positive spirit, Bob has a special place in the hearts of our Brookdale Ocean House community. Residents came together to create vintage-inspired Halloween cards filled with laughter, creativity, and heartfelt messages.

Making the afternoon even sweeter was the beautiful friendship between Bob’s wife, Doris, and her dear friend Anita, a friendship that blossomed right here at Brookdale Ocean House.

A beautiful reminder that the friendships we build and the kindness we share are what make Brookdale Ocean House feel like home. 🧡

🎬 Lights, Camera, Adventure!

What a wonderful day at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures! Our Brookdale Ocean House residents had a fantastic time exploring Hollywood's magic, sharing laughs and making memories.

We especially love these photos of Coco cruising in the pink Barbie car and Simon and Arpi enjoying the Marilyn Monroe exhibit! A little Hollywood glamour and a whole lot of fun!

📚✨ Brookdale Ocean House welcomes the Santa Monica Public Library!

We were delighted to welcome the Head Librarian from Santa Monica’s Main Library for a special presentation with our residents.

A big thank-you to our Assistant Resident Engagement Manager, Diana, for bringing this informative program to our community! The event was a big hit and gave residents a wonderful look at the many resources, programs, and services available through the library.

📖 Our next step is a resident tour of the Main Library, giving everyone an even more immersive experience and the opportunity to explore all that the library has to offer firsthand. We love creating meaningful connections with our local Santa Monica community and continuing to bring new opportunities for learning, discovery, and engagement to Ocean House

🍻🥨 Oktoberfest Celebration at Brookdale Ocean House! 🎶 What a fantastic afternoon of music, laughter, great food, and Oktoberfest cheer!

Our community had such a wonderful time celebrating together with featured performers Mike and Mandy of Music to Remember. The connection between the music and our residents made the afternoon especially memorable 🎵💛

A BIG shout-out to our amazing Dining Team for putting together an outstanding assortment of appetizers, perfectly paired with our selection of German beers on tap! 🍺🥨 Great music, delicious bites, wonderful company, and lots of community spirit- it was truly a great day at Ocean House!

What an experience at the Geffen Gallery! ✨

From the moment we stepped inside, the space felt completely transporting. The scale of the galleries, the incredible attention to detail, and the thoughtful curation made every room feel like a new discovery.

There was so much to take in, including art that surprised us, sparked conversation and gave us plenty to talk about long after we left. It was one of those outings that reminds us how exciting it is to keep exploring, learning and experiencing something new together.

This is what life at Brookdale Ocean House is all about. We may be a senior living community, but our sense of adventure is very much alive. From art and culture to new places and shared experiences, we continue to explore the world around us with curiosity and an open mind.

At Brookdale Ocean House, our Ageless Spirit is always in play! Age certainly isn’t slowing down these championship winners. From strategy and teamwork to a little friendly competition, our Bocce players bring energy, determination, and plenty of fun to the court. 🎯

And the best part? You don’t need any experience to join us. Our players have plenty of tips to share, and we’re always happy to teach someone new.

We had an incredible afternoon celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66 with a special presentation filled with history, stories, laughter and wonderful memories.

A heartfelt thank-you to our guest speaker, Lynne Miller from the California Historic Route 66 Association, for bringing this iconic stretch of American history to life and filling the room with so much joy and conversation.
