We hope you and your families are doing well. Life is very precious, and time is going by so fast.
The most important thing is to please pray for Toni. She is having major surgery this week to repair some nerve damage that was done while removing a tumor a few years ago. This Sunday Only !!
What you may or may not know about Stephanie she has been dancing with the same dance company for over 40 years.

Our Bellydance Director and teacher needs a week off after our big show last week so I'll be teaching the class at Gerry Blanck's this Sunday 12-1
So I'm keeping it simple and offering a Beginner Class so new folks can check it out.
Who's interested ?
We need students to cover the rent cost so break out of your shell and give it a shimmy and a whirl.

In 1984 I went to school to be a medical assistant and the very first doctor I worked for was a holistic MD. Dr. Pearl McBroom taught me all about holistic medicine. She had in her practice an acupuncturist, nutritionist, iridologist, homeopathy and so much more. Not only did I answer the phones and do all the billing I treated every single client before she saw them with a machine called the Acuscope and Myopulse it was basically Acu therapy with machines. I grew a love for holistic medicine. I worked for her for 15 years then went to work for a holistic chiropractor Bruce Beddoe for 18 years before opening Oasis Palisades with Toni Balfour an acupuncturist in 2007.
Now I get to run my own practice and see clients daily. My specialties have always been working with people with cancer and people in pain. My favorite modality is acupressure and reflexology.
I will soon be training in face massage for anti aging and look forward to offering a new service.

We now have two rooms, one of which is dedicated fully to The Harisienne Face and Scalp Treatment and our Eminence Organic facials. That is why we need your continued support, because we would not have a business without our amazing clients.
Through July, we want to offer $50 off both of our facial services and $50.00 off a one-hour massage and one-hour facial combo. Our newest service is a 30-minute massage and a 30-minute mini facial (no extractions). The normal price is $140.00. for July it will be $120.00.

Taking a drive down memory lane!!
So many feelings none that are good.
I could say the positives are for those who have been able to move back into their home that didn't burn or for those who have already moved back into their rebuild home. I know one person so far and for the businessess like Gerry Blanck’s Martial Arts Center that have got to come back.
Paws n' Claws Mobile Grooming inc is now mobile keep them in business. Vittorio's Italian at Canyon Square temporarily moved up the street from my house (we were in the same building in the Marquez.
I love Palisades Garden Cafe veggie burger so I went to get me one for lunch yesterday and wanted to take my son lunch also. He is now in the construction business and doing a rebuild in the neighborhood where my business was.
Angela Buttrey had a little taste this week of what we went through there was a fire 10 mins from her house but she said over 200 fire trucks came and saved all the homes. Why that couldn't have happened for us we will never know. I knew exactly what to tell her what was important to take when evacuating. I didn't lose my home but I did have to evacuate for 20 days
Most important thing to me was pictures and anything of real value except paintings lol
I did lose my business and couldn't get there to grab anything so trust me I know the feeling of great loss.
I really do with a group of people each morning on club house )gratitude and rain) practice gratitude so it's help put things into perspective but it doesn't matter if it was yesterday, one year, ten years or forever the palisades fire will never make sense and the loss for so many I know and love runs so deep. That's why our Monday morning coffee is so special because we have all been through a similar situation that those of you who didn't experience can't even imagine.
My mother in law who will be 90 will never forget all the things she lost but somehow she still counts her blessings. #2025

My first client was a patient from the chiropractor. Many years later the space nextdoor came available so Toni expanded and added another 800 square feet and opened the walls and Yin Yang Dermatology was born, which was Toni's dream. Only a few places like it even exist to this day. A full on manufacturing plant and pharmacy for her herbal business. She even had Kim Kardashian as a client. We spend 17 years in the Palisades until the fire took our business. Fast forward to now we are relocated to Santa Monica (for now) still offering all of our services. Toni has taken a break from Acupuncture and is still doing her Yin Yang Dermatology practice via tele-medicine, healing from cancer, starting a wellness podcast on Tik Tok and You Tube called "Healthier than Ever" and enjoying her family. I also found that she has a website www.behealthierthanever.com
Around 18 years ago Toni was pregnant and the president of the Palisades Chamber of Commerce (which no one has done since).

Stephanie is running the practice coordinating all the appointments and team as she also enjoys her family and being a grandma to 3 girls.

We are beyond grateful to all of our amazing therapist over the years

This is Stephanie's account of the process.

I was working for Bruce Beddoe a chiropractor in Pacific Palisades since 1989. Toni who is an Acupuncturist rented a room from Dr.Beddoe for 8 years. One day she asked me out of the complete blue if I wanted to start a business with her. she already had a business proposal and it had us making a lot of money lol
She also already had a location in the Marquez neighborhood it was for 50 years a appliance store (Jordan Appliance)
Scared out of my mind because I am a creature of habit I said YES!!
She had a friend who knew a architect
We initially started with 800 square feet
All custom designed from the wood desk to the built in cabinets it was a dream holistic wellness center. Reception area, 4 treatment rooms, kitchen and bathroom.
Toni needed a place to hand make her herbs for pets. Our kitchen was filled with big plastic containers with all the formulas.

Side note: filling herb bottles with a turkey baster was Josh's first job (maybe Rah also) everyone had to pitch in.
