How does desire show up for you?
We often assume s*xual desire is supposed to happen spontaneously: you feel turned on, then you want s*x.
But desire doesn’t always work that way.
Sometimes desire seems to appear out of nowhere. Sometimes it emerges after connection, touch, or arousal begins. And sometimes context makes all the difference: stress, exhaustion, privacy, your relationship, how you feel in your body, or what happened earlier that day.
Understanding how your desire works can help replace “What’s wrong with me?” with curiosity about what actually helps you feel open to s*xual connection.
And these aren’t rigid boxes or diagnoses. Our experience of desire can overlap, shift, and change depending on what’s happening in our bodies, relationships, and lives.
Which one sounds most like you?
