We kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with an inspiring evening of community, remembrance and hope. More than 150 patients, physicians, caregivers and community members gathered to illuminate the health center in pink, launching a month-long reminder of the importance of breast health awareness and early detection.

The event also recognized more than 30 years of compassionate care through the Margie Petersen Breast Center, with speakers reflecting on the power of community support throughout the breast health journey.

Phil and Penny Knight have committed $1.1 billion to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Providence Heart Institute — one of the largest healthcare gifts in U.S. history.

Transforming care through philanthropy, this historic gift will help create Oregon’s first hospital dedicated to women’s health, advance heart care and expand support for patients and families across the region.

Fifteen years ago, a call went out for NICU nurses. The opportunity intrigued Liberty Rivera, but caring for the tiniest and most fragile patients felt intimidating. Today, she calls it one of the best decisions she's ever made.

Chloe is cancer-free! 🎉

At just 15 years old, Chloe was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in September 2025. Because of the aggressive nature of this type of cancer, she spent much of her journey in the hospital, facing every challenge with incredible strength and courage.

After a tough battle, 16-year-old Chloe has officially rung the bell, marking the end of her cancer treatment and the beginning of a new chapter.

Inspired by the nurses and caregivers who cared for her, Chloe now hopes to become a pediatric nurse herself. We couldn't be more proud of her resilience, determination and heart. We can't wait to see all she accomplishes in the future.

Last Saturday, friends of Providence Saint John’s came together for a free health fair focused on men's cancer awareness, prevention and wellness for the whole family. Attendees connected with health experts and visited educational booths while also enjoying fair-inspired activities like a Ferris wheel, dunk tank and fun-filled games.

Held ahead of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, the event highlighted the importance of building a personal game plan for better health and early detection.

Thank you to cancer support services and Providence Saint John’s Cancer Clinics for hosting, and to the Ruth and Milton Berman Family Mentorship Fund, whose generosity helped make this special day possible.

Providence Saint John’s Health Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has earned national certification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, becoming the only program in West Los Angeles to hold this designation.

Achieving certification followed a nearly two-year journey of reviewing, documenting and validating the program’s processes, quality measures and patient outcomes against rigorous national benchmarks.

This recognition reflects a multidisciplinary effort to set a high standard for cardiovascular care in our community, and we're proud of the dedicated team members whose hard work and commitment helped make this milestone possible.

We’re proud to share that Providence Saint John's Health Center earned national and regional recognition in U.S. News & World Report's 2026-27 Best Hospitals rankings.

Ranked among the top nine hospitals in Los Angeles and Orange counties and the top 14 hospitals in California, Saint John’s earned national rankings in orthopedics and urology, with orthopedics landing among the top 19 programs in the nation. The health center also earned a high-performing specialty designation in geriatrics and high-performing ratings across multiple procedures and conditions.

Providence Saint John's Health Center is honored to once again be recognized by the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines® program for excellence in stroke and cardiovascular care.

This year, Providence Saint John's earned Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus recognition, along with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, Advanced Therapy and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll distinctions. We also received Coronary Artery Disease STEMI Receiving Gold with Target: Type 2 Diabetes and Coronary Artery Disease NSTEMI Bronze recognitions.
