STEP 11

“Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understand Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.”

Sometimes the answer isn’t found in doing more.

Sometimes it’s found in becoming still enough to listen.

🤍 Pray.
🤍 Pause.
🤍 Trust.
🤍 Follow.

One day at a time.

Gratitude over Grouchy 😇

Step Ten – “Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.”

Few people have been more victimized by resentments than have we alcoholics. It mattered little whether our resentments were justified or not. A burst of temper could spoil a day, and a well-nursed grudge could make us miserably ineffective. Nor were we ever skillful in separating justified from unjustified anger. As we saw it, our wrath was always justified. Anger, that occasional luxury of more balanced people, could keep us on an emotional jag indefinitely. These emotional “dry benders” often led straight to the bottle. Other kinds of disturbances–jealousy, envy, self-pity, or hurt pride–did the same thing.

💃 Am I holding on too tightly to someone else’s recovery?
💃 Where might healthy distance create healthier outcomes?
💃 Am I confusing love with control?

Sometimes the most graceful step in the dance of recovery is simply stepping back.

Pursuit of Recovery’s
6 P’s of Communication
Tools to Use before we REACT, REPLY, or RESPOND to others
1. PAUSE- Deep breathe and DO NOT do anything.
2. PRAY /CONNECT W/ the God of your Understanding/Spiritual Guider/Higher Power
3. PRINT - Write or Type what you are thinking, feeling wanting and/or needing
4. PROCESS -Process with Therapist,(if needed) Sponsor or Recovery Coach .Take your time before you are needing to Respond. (This step is important after you took the “Poll” and if your peers say to send)
5. PRESENT - Giving the response to the other party (s)
Logistically, guess what…. We DO NOT need to REACT!
6. PEACE🤍
When we Pause, we have PEACE before Response.

💃 Tuesday Tango: The Dance of Deception

Recovery and deception often dance to the same rhythm.

Deception rarely shows up wearing a warning label. Instead, it glides in quietly with thoughts like:
“It’s not that bad.”
“Nobody needs to know.”
“Just this once.”
“I’ve got it under control.”

Before we know it, we’re moving in step with denial, secrecy, and rationalization—following a partner that always leads us away from truth and freedom.

Recovery asks us to change dance partners.

It invites us to step into honesty, accountability, vulnerability, and transparency. At first, those steps can feel awkward and unfamiliar. But over time, they become the rhythm of a life built on integrity.

Today, pay attention to who—or what—is leading your dance. The dance of deception may feel comfortable, but it always takes us in circles. The dance of recovery leads us forward.

Question for reflection:
What truth have you been avoiding that could move your recovery one step closer to freedom?
