Summer travel season is here, and whether you’re heading to the coast, catching a flight, or enjoying a weekend getaway, it’s important to keep your hearing aids protected while you’re on the move:

✔ Pack extra supplies
Bring chargers, batteries, cleaning tools, and domes so you’re prepared wherever you go.

✔ Protect against heat & moisture
Summer temperatures, humidity, and sweat can affect hearing aid performance. Store devices in a cool, dry place whenever possible.

✔ Use a travel case
A protective case helps prevent accidental damage while traveling.

✔ Be mindful around pools & beaches
Water and sand can be tough on hearing technology. Remove devices before swimming and keep them dry.

✔ Don’t ignore changes in sound quality
If your hearing aids suddenly sound weak, distorted, or intermittent while traveling, moisture or debris may be the cause.

At Audiology Associates, we want you to stay connected to every conversation, family gathering, and summer memory, wherever your travels take you.

📞 Have questions before your next trip? Call Audiology Associates at 707-827-1630 and we’ll help make sure your devices are travel-ready.

As summer approaches, it’s a good time to think about how seasonal activities can impact your hearing.

Like outdoor events, noise and environment both play a role in hearing health.
✔ Be mindful of volume at concerts, festivals, and events
✔ Use hearing protection in louder environments
✔ Take listening breaks to reduce strain on your ears
✔ Keep hearing aids dry around pools, beaches, and humid conditions

Even short-term exposure to loud sound can have lasting effects over time. A little awareness now can help preserve your hearing long-term.

At Audiology Associates, we help patients stay ahead of these changes with practical guidance and personalized care.

⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “They got me right in and really understood tinnitus issues. Comprehensive testing that is way more thorough than the free places… the quality is unmatched. You get what you pay for.”
— John Miller, April 27, 2026

At Audiology Associates, we take a comprehensive, individualized approach to understanding and addressing tinnitus. Tinnitus, often described as ringing or noise in the ears, can be frustrating, confusing, and difficult to manage without the right guidance.

Tinnitus is rarely a one-size-fits-all condition. It can be influenced by hearing changes, stress, neurological factors, and more.

That’s why our process focuses on:
✔ Thorough diagnostic testing
✔ Understanding how tinnitus affects your daily life
✔ Identifying contributing factors
✔ Recommending personalized management strategies

For many patients, simply understanding why tinnitus is happening is a major step forward.

May is Better Hearing & Speech Month, a time to highlight the role hearing plays in overall health, communication, and quality of life.

✔ Speech understanding, especially in noise
✔ Listening effort and fatigue
✔ Social engagement and communication
✔ Long-term cognitive health

Because these changes often happen slowly, many people adapt without realizing what they may be missing. That’s why comprehensive hearing evaluations matter. A thorough assessment looks beyond a basic screening to better understand how you hear in real-world environments and what support, if any, is appropriate.

At Audiology Associates, we make it a priority to stay closely connected to emerging conversations across the medical community.

We recently came across an article in Psychiatric Times discussing a case of tinnitus associated with bupropion, where symptoms improved following a dosage adjustment.

This highlights an important reality:
Tinnitus is often multifactorial, and in some cases, may be influenced by medications commonly used in psychiatric care.

For patients, this can look like:
✔ New or worsening tinnitus after starting or adjusting medication
✔ Increased awareness of ringing alongside anxiety or stress
✔ Overlapping hearing and neurological symptoms

Situations like this reinforce the importance of a collaborative, cross-disciplinary approach.

At Audiology Associates, we believe there is a strong opportunity to work alongside:
• Psychiatrists
• Psychologists
• Primary care providers

…to help identify contributing factors and ensure patients receive well-rounded, informed care when tinnitus is involved.

Our role is to provide comprehensive hearing evaluations and tinnitus insight, helping complete the picture so the best decisions can be made for each patient.

📖 Read the article here: https://www.psychiatrictimes.com/view/tinnitus-associated-with-bupropion-a-case-of-importance-of-dosage-adjustment

📞 If you’re a provider or patient navigating tinnitus, we’re always here as a resource.

Bupropion may cause dose-linked tinnitus; this case shows symptoms improve after dose reduction, helping manage depression without stopping treatment.

Not all hearing tests are the same ≠👂
At Audiology Associates, we believe that accurate, comprehensive testing is the foundation of better hearing care. A quick screening may tell you if there’s a problem, but it won’t tell you the full story.

Our approach goes deeper:

✔️ Evaluating how you hear in quiet and noisy environments
✔️ Understanding your comfort levels across different sound ranges
✔️ Identifying how hearing impacts your daily life and communication

This level of detail allows us to create truly personalized recommendations, not one-size-fits-all solutions.

Because better testing leads to better outcomes.
