To the nice couple, Inez and Gary Jackson, that came in today to make your preplanning arrangements, we'd like to apologize. As you were leaving, we meant to say "Enjoy the rest of your day!" but instead we said, "Enjoy the rest of your days". What a difference an S makes. Whoops. We apologize for the shock this caused you. We did not have a premonition of future happenings, it was just a slight slip.

Famous Ed wants to welcome everyone to the gun show. That's right, he's finished the renovations at the Gun Show Cabins near the base of Skinny Dip Mountain out at Pretty Water Lake. These cabins are now open for business and suitable for a fun family weekend or a romantic hour away from the office. You can pay by cash and an alias is recommended for the guest book. Ed's been know to run a bit of blackmail on the side so best keep your details to a minimum and we recommend using the side entrance.

The dedication of our staff is such that at times, we have to force these folks to go on vacation. They need a little time away from work to recharge their batteries. Take for instance Coffin Ed, one of our better practitioners of the internment arts. We gave him the day off because the beaches at Pretty Water Lake are open again for the season and we were hoping he would run into one of the Zuccini sisters while he was out there. Sometimes a man needs to be around a warm body for a while. But nope, he can't leave work behind. He starts giving an impromptu Ted Talk about why a sandy beach makes a bad place for a burial. Several families moved to the other side of the beach. But surprisingly there were a couple of fellows who spent an hour quizzing Ed about some of the better places to bury a body. Looks like maybe we've added a few folks to our spotters network.

They put the band back together! We are proud to announce a special one night performance of Britches and his Bi***es on June 31st in the parking lot of the Patriot Cafe (sadly they still have a strict "no monkey" inside policy after the last performance). Come hear them perform the latest hits from Kansas City and Dallas including "If you talk in your sleep, don't mention my name" and "Cheer up, the cherries will soon be ripe". It guaranteed to be a howling good time.

We are sad to announce the passing of Sam Seetdown, local Sapulpa resident and America's number one, toilet seat salesman. He was quite the fixture of the highway and byways of our fair nation. He based his success on the moto "comfort under pressure". Sam also pioneered the "book on a roll" concept with his autobiography "Being number one while taking number two". If only it had sold as well as his seats. When he passed his wife Ember said he had 1,500 rolls in the trunk of his car. But don't fear, El Diablo the mexican restaurant out on the edge of town has bought they entire lot and will have them proudly installed for their customers enjoyment. In fact they are giving away a free roll with every bottle of Salsa Inferno they sell until they are all gone. We asked them not to distribute them before the funeral so that folks can be present for the service.

BIG NEWS! We have partnered with World-Renown Hot Rod Artist John Mitchell to open a second location for Mortuary Merchandise. We now both have a booth at Meadow Gold Mack's at 11th and Peoria in the Land of the Giants!

If you're traveling the Route it's well worth your time to stop in and see all the amazing stuff for sale in this Route 66 merchandise mecca. You can get Uncle Mick's Habenaro Hot Sauce (proudly made in Sapulpa) as well as stickers, t-shirts and other vintage items.

"I'm going to spill the tea." Those were Sara Chowder's last words. God rest her soul. Her service went as well as you can imagine it could, for one of Sapulpa's biggest gossips and tea cup collector. Attendance wasn't what the family had hopped as many folks were told incorrect address info and showed up at Homer Snodgrass' manure factory (it's a lovely venue, really it is). The good news is that you can find the remainder of Sara's Tea Cup Collection at Route 66 Vintage Market. Just ask ask Archie or Terri and they will direct you to the booth in the back. Just don't spill the tea in the store if you can help it. That's what the bench's out front are for.

We had someone ask us whose bright idea it was to dig an underground tunnel system in Sapulpa. That would be two of our most senior employees, Coffin Ed and Grave Digger (or just Digger to his friends, Mr. Digger if you're nasty). They are our one-two punch for cemetery work. They're both reformed gardeners and unashamed dreamers. Plus they like to drink beer on Friday's down at 's Place with Honest-to-god Einstein and that's where they say they cooked up the idea for The Sapulpa Subway System. Plenty of folks say there's tunnels already under downtown. These two are just hoping to find a few and save a bit of time. Plus this project keeps them out of the cemetery after hours, if you know what we mean.
