July heat isn’t just a strain on your crew: it’s a major fire risk for your jobsite. 🔥

With dry conditions and rising temps, the margin for error with flammables and hot equipment shrinks. A small spark can turn into a serious incident in seconds.

Keep your site protected with these 3 quick checks:

1️⃣ Hot Work Protocols: Always maintain a fire watch for 30 minutes after welding or cutting is finished. Smoldering sparks are a hidden danger.

2️⃣ Safe Storage: Store flammable liquids in shaded, ventilated areas. Never leave fuel containers in direct sunlight or hot truck beds.

3️⃣ Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all machinery is clear of dry brush. A hot exhaust pipe can easily ignite debris or dry grass.

Fire safety requires extra vigilance in the summer. Stay proactive and keep your team safe. 🛡️

Copper is currently hitting record highs, and unfortunately, thieves are paying attention. 🏗️💰

With construction activity peaking during the summer months, job sites are becoming prime targets for metal theft. Replacing stolen copper isn't just about the material cost: it’s the project delays, repair work, and increased insurance premiums that really hit your bottom line.

Is your site a target? Here are three ways to protect your investment:

🛠️ Brand Your Metals: Use spray paint or etching to mark your pipes and wiring. Marked metal is much harder for thieves to sell to reputable scrap yards.

📡 GPS Tracking: Consider hiding small, battery-powered GPS trackers inside large spools of wire or high-value crates.

🔐 Secure Storage: If it's not installed, it should be locked up. Avoid leaving large quantities of copper in plain sight overnight.

At CEH Security & Safety Solutions LLC, we help you identify the gaps in your site security before they become a loss.

Contact us today to schedule a site security assessment and keep your project on track!

It’s officially the "dog days" of summer, and the heat isn’t letting up. ☀️

We’re in the peak of the season, which means heat safety isn’t just a suggestion: it’s a survival skill. When the humidity and temperatures climb, your body works double-time to stay cool. Are you and your crew staying ahead of the heat?

Here is your mid-summer heat safety refresher:

💧 Hydration is key: Drink 1 cup of water every 20 minutes. If you wait until you're thirsty, you're already behind.
🌳 Mandatory shade: Don't skip your breaks. Getting out of the direct sun gives your core temperature a chance to drop.
👥 Watch your buddy: Keep an eye on your coworkers for signs of heat exhaustion: like dizziness, heavy sweating, or nausea.

Staying safe on the job site means being proactive, not reactive. Let’s finish the summer strong and healthy!

Is your head protection stuck in the past? 👷‍♂️

As of July 1st, Canada has officially mandated Type 2 helmets for all CCSC member sites. This isn’t just a simple gear update; it’s a major evolution in how we protect our teams. Unlike traditional hard hats that primarily safeguard against top-down impacts, Type 2 helmets are engineered to protect from impacts to the front, back, and sides.

One of the biggest differences? The 4-point chin straps. These aren't just for a snug fit: they ensure the helmet stays exactly where it needs to be during a fall or slip, which is critical for reducing the risk of concussions and traumatic brain injuries. 🧠

Whether you’re operating in Canada or the US, the industry is moving toward this modern standard. Keeping your crew safe means staying ahead of the curve and investing in the best protection available.

Is your team ready to make the switch to modern PPE? Let’s talk about your safety strategy and how to transition effectively.

Summer is peak season for construction: but unfortunately, it’s also peak season for site theft. 🏗️🛡️

Did you know that organized crime groups are now using drones to conduct reconnaissance on high-value sites? They aren’t just looking for an open gate; they are scouting for expensive equipment, copper, and gaps in your security from the sky. 🚁

To keep your project on schedule and your assets safe, consider these proactive steps:

📍 Vary your patrol times: Unpredictable routines are much harder to exploit.
💡 Motion-activated lighting: Eliminate blind spots where intruders can hide.
🚜 Secure the perimeter: Ensure all heavy machinery is disabled and tracked with GPS.

Don’t let your hard work be stalled by a preventable loss. Contact CEH Security & Safety Solutions LLC today for a comprehensive site security assessment to ensure your site is locked down. 🔒

Did you know OSHA starts turning up the heat on inspections at just 80°F? 🌡️

With the summer sun in full swing, it’s critical to understand the "80/90 Rule" under OSHA’s National Emphasis Program (NEP).

At 80°F: This is the trigger point where OSHA expects your heat illness prevention plan to be active. At this threshold, you should be providing:
💧 Cool, potable water.
⛱️ Easy access to shade.
👥 Training for all employees and supervisors.
📉 A gradual acclimatization plan for new or returning workers.

At 90°F+: We move into "High Heat" territory. This requires more aggressive measures, including mandatory rest breaks and a rigorous buddy system to monitor for signs of distress.

Waiting until it “feels hot” to check your plan is a risk your team can’t afford. We help small construction and industrial teams stay compliant and, more importantly, keep their crews safe.

Is your safety plan ready for the triple digits? ☀️

Contact CEH Security & Safety Solutions LLC today to review your Heat Illness Prevention Plan before the peak of summer hits.

Is your job site ready for an unannounced heat inspection? ☀️👷‍♂️

At CEH Security & Safety Solutions, we specialize in keeping you ahead of the curve. We provide actionable plans to ensure your team stays safe and your business stays compliant: saving you from fines and protecting your most valuable asset: your people. 📉🔥

Did you know that just a few days away from the heat can significantly lower your body’s tolerance?

We hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July weekend! 🎆 As we get back to work today, it’s important to remember that re-acclimatization is critical. Even a 3-4 day break is enough for your heat tolerance to drop, making "Day 1" back one of the most high-risk days for heat-related illnesses.

The 20% rule isn't just for new team members: it applies to returning workers too. OSHA recommends a gradual approach to help your body get back up to speed safely. Start at a reduced intensity, keep the water flowing, and don't skip those shade breaks. 👷‍♂️☀️

Keeping your crew safe is our top priority. If you need help tailoring a heat safety plan or training for your team, reach out to us at cehconsulting.org. Let’s make sure everyone goes home safe at the end of the shift.

Did your job site survive the long holiday weekend? 🧨

The 4th of July is prime time for site theft, and now that the festivities are over, it’s time to ensure your equipment and materials are exactly where you left them. Don't wait for a crew member to notice something is missing: take a proactive lap today.

A post-holiday walk-through is essential for catching vulnerabilities before they become losses. Here is your quick security checklist:

✅ Walk the perimeter: Look for cut fences, tampered gates, or signs of forced entry.
✅ Log your inventory: Verify that high-value materials like copper and tools are still accounted for.
✅ Test your tech: Ensure your cameras stayed online and are recording clearly after any weekend outages.
✅ Check your lighting: Verify that site lighting is still functioning as intended.

If you discovered a gap in your security this weekend, let’s close it before the next one. CEH Security & Safety Solutions is here to help you tailor a security plan that keeps your site locked down 24/7.
