REAL FAMILY STORIES™ | Meet Blakely ❤️
Some family stories stay with you.
This is one of them.
In 2020, Blakely was diagnosed with brain and spine cancer. When the tumors spread to her spinal cord, she lost her ability to walk for many months.
After chemotherapy and radiation, her family wanted something very simple:
They wanted Blakely to continue being part of their life together.
Danielle, Blakely’s mom, told us:
“After chemo and radiation we wanted to make sure she was a part of our family trips to the sand bar and school outings.”
So in 2021, their family chose an xROVER.
More than five years later, Danielle sent us these photographs.
And they tell the story better than we ever could.
Days on the water.
The sandbar.
Baseball games.
School and family outings.
Time with siblings.
Adventures together.
When we look at these photographs, we don't really see a mobility device.
We see Blakely being part of her family.
And that is what adaptive mobility should make possible.
After her original treatment, Blakely had five years with no evidence of disease. Sadly, her family recently learned that she is now facing acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and she is back in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy and preparing for a bone marrow transplant.
So today, this story means even more.
Those days at the lake, on the boat, at the baseball field and on the sand aren't simply photographs.
They are memories.
Danielle, thank you for trusting us with your family's story.
And Blakely — your entire xROVER family is thinking of you and cheering for you.
❤️
Keep fighting. There are many more adventures waiting for you.
