Su***de can affect people of all ages, backgrounds, and life circumstances. While there is no single cause, certain factors can increase a person's risk.

Risk factors may include:
• Mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or substance use disorders
• Major life stressors, including financial, legal, relationship, or work-related challenges
• Chronic illness or ongoing physical pain
• Experiences of trauma, abuse, violence, grief, or loss
• Feelings of loneliness, isolation, or lack of support
• Discrimination or social stigma
• A family history of su***de
Having one or more risk factors does not mean someone will attempt su***de. However, recognizing these challenges can help us better support ourselves and others.

A simple conversation, a listening ear, or encouraging someone to seek help can make a meaningful difference.💙

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for confidential support 24/7.

💙 Does Your Child Need a Mental Health Day?

Just like adults, kids can sometimes feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or emotionally drained. A mental health day can provide an opportunity to pause, recharge, and reset.

Signs your child may benefit from a break include:
• Feeling overwhelmed by school or activities
• Increased anxiety, sadness, or irritability
• Stress after a major project, test, or life change
• Difficulty coping with emotional challenges

A mental health day isn't about staying in bed or scrolling on a phone all day. Instead, encourage restorative activities like:
🌳 Spending time outdoors
🚶 Going for a walk or bike ride
🎨 Drawing, crafting, or creating
📚 Reading for enjoyment
🧘 Practicing mindfulness or yoga
🎵 Listening to calming music

Most importantly, keep the conversation open. Checking in with your child about how they're feeling can help build emotional awareness, resilience, and trust.

☀️ How to Protect Your Skin This Summer: 4 Common Skin Problems and How to Feel Better

Summer means more time outdoors—but it can also bring a few unwelcome skin issues. Knowing what to look for and how to protect yourself can help you enjoy the season safely.

🌿 Poison Ivy
Watch for itchy red rashes, swelling, and bumps after outdoor activities. Wear protective clothing, clean tools regularly, and avoid touching unfamiliar plants.

🦟 Mosquito Bites
Mosquitoes can leave behind itchy, swollen bumps and may carry illnesses. Reduce your risk by using insect repellent, wearing long sleeves, and eliminating standing water around your home.

☀️ Sunburn
Too much sun can damage your skin and increase your risk of skin cancer. Protect yourself with sunscreen, protective clothing, shade, and regular hydration.

🔥 Heat Rash
Hot, humid weather can block sweat ducts and cause itchy, irritated skin. Stay cool, wear lightweight clothing, and keep skin dry when possible.

🏥 Feeling Nervous About a Doctor's Appointment? You're Not Alone.
Many people experience anxiety before a medical visit—whether it's discussing symptoms, undergoing tests, or worrying about what they might hear. The good news is that a little preparation can help you feel more confident and in control.

📝 Before your appointment, consider making a list of:
• Symptoms or concerns you'd like to discuss
• Questions about medications or treatments
• Health goals you're working toward
• Any changes you've noticed in your physical or mental well-being

Starting with your most important questions can help ensure you leave with the information and support you need. Remember: your healthcare provider is there to help, not judge. Taking an active role in your care can lead to better outcomes and greater peace of mind.

🧩 Understanding Behavioral Therapy for Kids
Every child experiences challenges as they grow—but sometimes they need extra support to develop healthy ways of thinking, feeling, and responding to the world around them.

Behavioral therapy helps children identify unhelpful thought patterns, manage emotions, and build positive coping skills. Through evidence-based techniques, therapists work with children and families to replace challenging behaviors with healthier, more effective responses.

Behavioral therapy can help children:
⭐ Build emotional regulation skills
⭐ Reduce impulsive or disruptive behaviors
⭐ Improve problem-solving and coping strategies
⭐ Strengthen social and communication skills
⭐ Develop confidence and resilience

There are several types of behavioral therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Each approach is tailored to meet a child's unique needs and goals.

Supporting a child's mental health early can provide lifelong tools for success, helping them thrive at home, in school, and in their relationships. Go to: http://spr.ly/6183BEpPpf to learn more
