Join us for The Roskamp Institute’s annual Veterans Day Open House as we come together to honor those who have served and share our ongoing research into Gulf War Illness, Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and other neurological conditions affecting veterans.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet our scientists, tour our research laboratories, enjoy complimentary breakfast and lunch, and connect with local organizations offering valuable resources and services for veterans and their families.

Stop by any time from 10:30 am-1:30 pm. At noon, we will gather for a special patriotic tribute featuring the Booker High School Color Guard and a performance of the national anthem by a local quartet.

This event is free and open to the public. We invite veterans, their families, and our community to join us for this special day of appreciation, connection, and discovery.

At 12:00 PM, we’ll pause for a special Veterans Day tribute featuring the Booker High School Color Guard and the National Anthem performed by a vocal quartet.

There are no formal presentations this year, so stop by and explore, ask questions, meet our researchers, and learn more about the work being done to better understand conditions affecting veterans, families, and our broader community.

Join us at the Dementia & Parkinson’s Health Fair on Saturday, October 17, at Town Square Sarasota!
The Roskamp Institute’s CEO and Co-Founder, Dr. Fiona Crawford, will speak from 10:15–11:00 a.m. on “Lifestyle Impacts on Dementia,” sharing insights into how lifestyle factors can influence brain health and cognitive aging.
The event will also feature resources for caregivers, free health screenings, additional guest speakers, live music, and more.

On World Alzheimer’s Day, we reflect on how far we’ve come and how much work remains.

From our co-founders’ early work helping identify the first genetic causes of Alzheimer’s disease, to today’s research exploring the complex processes behind cognitive decline, the pursuit of answers at The Roskamp Institute has never stopped.

Now, that pursuit is expanding beyond the laboratory. With the development of our Brain Reserve Index and the upcoming Roskamp Center for Brain Health, we are working to translate what research tells us about brain health into meaningful action in our community.
