Part of our philosophy here at Samaritan is that therapy should be tailored to each individual's specific spiritual needs. If that means you don't want any spirituality involved at all, that's completely fine too, but we make sure our therapists are extremely knowledgeable about all walks of life, so we can help everyone the way THEY need to be helped.

Just 4 days left to double your impact! đź’™

All summer, we’ve been sharing what your generosity makes possible through Samaritan’s internship program. Now, as our matching gift campaign comes to a close, we’re asking for your help one last time.

Through the generosity of Linda & Mike Mansperger, every donation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000—but this ends at the end of the month.

Your gift helps Samaritan invest in the next generation of mental health professionals, providing master’s-level interns with the supervision, training, and mentorship they need as they work toward state licensure. In turn, these future counselors help make compassionate mental health care more accessible throughout our community.

Since 2016, 14 mental health counselors have graduated from Samaritan’s internship program, while interns have provided more than 10,000 reduced-fee and pro bono counseling sessions.

Those numbers represent years of learning, caring, listening, and helping—and a commitment to ensuring our community has qualified counselors to turn to for years to come.

If you’ve been thinking about making a gift, now is the time. Donate by the end of the day on August 31st, and your gift can have twice the impact: https://www.samaritangulfcoast.com/donate/

Thank you for helping us invest in the future of counseling and care in our community. đź’™

What do you hope your legacy will make possible? đź’™

National Make-A-Will Month is a reminder that a will can do more than provide for the people you love—it can also carry forward the causes and values that have mattered to you throughout your life.

By including Samaritan in your will, you can help ensure that compassionate counseling and support remain available in our community for generations to come. You’ll also become part of Samaritan’s Legacy Society, joining others who have chosen to make our mission part of the legacy they leave behind.

Each commitment adds another colorful piece to our Legacy Society puzzle—and there are still pieces waiting to be filled.

Could one of them represent your legacy?

As August comes to a close, we invite you to consider including Samaritan in your future plans and helping our mission continue long into the future.

If you’re interested in making a legacy gift, we encourage you to speak with an attorney or financial advisor about the options available to you. 💙

It's been a long journey to get to where you are now, and some obstacles stick with us longer than you may think. Help us help you truly overcome them. We're here to help you navigate whatever path you're working towards.

Ten years ago, Samaritan made a commitment: to help address the shortage of mental health professionals by investing in the counselors of tomorrow.

Today, that commitment continues through Samaritan’s internship program, where students completing their master’s degrees receive the supervision, training, and mentorship they need as they work toward state licensure.

Since 2016, 14 counselors have graduated from the program, providing more than 10,000 reduced-fee and pro bono counseling sessions along the way. That means thousands of people in our community have been able to receive compassionate mental health care they might not otherwise have been able to access.

And right now, you can help this important work go even further.

Linda & Mike Mansperger have generously offered to match every donation this summer, up to $25,000! Your gift helps Samaritan continue preparing highly qualified counselors while expanding access to care for those who need it.

As the need for mental health support continues, investing in future counselors is an investment in the future of our entire community.

Help us say YES—and double the impact of your gift today! 💙

This shoutout is for more than one of our employees... August brings us 3 staff anniversaries!

Teresa Imbruno, our Director of Operations & Human Resources, started with us just two years ago, while John Gregory, our Associate Executive Director/Chief of Staff, and Connie Valenti, one of our Licensed Clinical Social Workers, have been with us for six years now! All three of them have been indispensable members of our team the entire time, and we hope to have them for many more years to come.

It can be hard to open up to friends and family; for others, it's hard to finally seek out a therapist. Both, however, are integral to a good support system that's always there for you when you need it. Who do you count on?

With school having started again just last week, it's important to keep in mind the impact that the pressure of social status and grades can have on kids' mental health.

Fortunately, we have 8 therapists here at Samaritan who specialize in child therapy, AND they have availability outside of school hours, which can be increasingly difficult for parents to find.

It can be difficult to notice the earlier signs of anxiety or depression in children though, since they're still learning how to express themselves. If you notice any of the following symptoms as we get further into the year, please don't hesitate to give us a call:

✏️ Increased irritability, anger, or emotional outbursts
✏️ Withdrawal from friends, family, activities, or hobbies they once enjoyed
✏️ Avoidance of school, social situations, or separation from caregivers
✏️ Changes in sleep, appetite, energy, or motivation
✏️ Frequent physical complaints, such as headaches or stomachaches, without a clear medical cause
✏️ Difficulty concentrating or changes in school performance, including declining grades or school refusal
