Sarasota Pain Treatment Center Sarasota Pain Treatment Center's focus is balancing the body structurally through soft tissue manipu

Neurosomatic Therapy (NST) is an integrative form of manual therapy that identifies and corrects structural and biomechanical imbalances in the body that cause chronic pain. Chronic pain has traditionally been treated in a way that does not address the underlying soft tissue causes of pain. When performed in isolation, massage therapy, physical therapy, chiropractic care, and medicinal pain manage

ment fail to address the entire health issue. By carefully analyzing dysfunctional postural and movement patterns we can create a comprehensive therapy program to treat the underlying cause of your pain. The best part of NST is that it not only focuses on eliminating pain, but also educates the patient on ways to prevent recurrence of the injury and a better understanding of how their pain began.

You are enough

It’s concerning to see so many disempowered people walking out of our healthcare system. Patients stubble in my door and actually find an opportunity to understand the issue and ultimately find relief.
-
I’m utterly blown away by how patients don’t fully understand their issues and how we all have been stripped of our knowledge of how to aid ourselves in recovery or injury.
-
Your body has the full ability to heal itself, done it since day one. We must do a better job at seeking out individuals looking to help us holistically, look for the deeper issues and not settle for main stream solutions. You only have one body, make it last.
-
Live pain free.

This is 🔑 to understanding how your body is functioning/correcting. Your body will change and adjust depending on the demands YOU put on it each day.

Be mindful of your daily patterns friends, they define you.

Some of the greatest change I’ve seen occur happen without the awareness of my patient. We often look for these massive shifts in life and we chalk all change up to these big moments.
-
Unfortunately these moments are few and far between, More often what we experience are small changes. Changes in our body or circumstance that we must look at and appreciate for everything it is and can possibly be.
-
So to any weary soul feeling tired and burdened from your journey, find hope in searching for these changes. You may still walk with a limp today, it’s ok it can get better. You may still not be able to use your shoulder in ways you’d like, don’t worry it can get better.
-
The changes we seek in life are lying at our feet, take a moment today, pick one up and appreciate it.

As a therapist who prides them self on getting results and pushing my patients to get better I have learned that this is not the course everyone needs.
__
I have had the great fortune to meet many amazing people in my career. My favourite being those that are nonstop determined despite the opposition they face in life.
__
Whether these individuals are struggling with cancer or other potentially life threatening diseases the greatest gift we can offer in a life filled with being poked/prodded, chemo treatments, medications and nausea is not treating to fix them but rather treating to help the soul inside.
__
Treat with the individual in mind, not the dysfunction. A kind hand and a ear willing to listen to their struggles, experiences, fears can make all the difference in someones struggle.
Do better, treat better.

Get ya neck checked kid!

EVERY patient I have seen in my career has dealt with some sort of C1/ATLAS distortion.
-
Could have started from a trauma or a lot of over use and misuse of certain muscles. We do know that when this bone is out of alignment it not only has a tremendous affect on the entire body.
-
It can also increase pressure on your central nervous system that could lead to a variety of issues, even digestive gut related problems!

The source of your pain IS NOT where you always feel pain. Often we find a muscle on the opposite end or other side of the body that is pulling our structure into a position that will burden us and create pain/dysfunction.
-
If you have struggled with pain for weeks, months, or years without resolve its time you had someone look at your situation through a different lens. Throwing the same dart at the same dartboard doesn’t do anyone any good.
-
Utilizing our Neurosomatic charting techniques we can help pinpoint the source of dysfunction and better help you understand where your pain could be coming from and why you feel the symptoms you do!

Our office has a little lower vibration this week after the departure of our therapist Dan Vidal. We have been fortunate enough to have Dan working with us at SPTC for over a year and in that time we have seen Dan become family and grow into an exceptional therapist.
-
Dan will be moving back to his hometown in Philadelphia bringing with him his abilities as a Neurosomatic therapist and a passion to help those in need. We wish Dan the best on this next chapter in his life and want to encourage any patients that were fortunate enough to share time in treatment with Dan to leave a kind word. 💯 @ Sarasota Pain Treatment Center

Be a victor. Don’t spend another day saying you will go to that doctor or specialist, sit better in the car, have better posture at work, or train with better form at the gym, whatever it is just DECIDE.
-
Continuing with a victim midset will lead you nowhere. My greatest moments as a therapist came from patients showing up to my door willing to reciprocate every ounce of energy I put into them and after doing so they reaped the rewards.
-
To be a victor of your daily patterns means you won’t be a slouch, that you will be mindful of your body and posture not only when you train or when you are in the presence of your therapist but all the time. That you will not settle for a half assed diagnoses but that you seek to educate yourself and find those that can help, heal or educate you and in doing so you will find what you need to get better.

Be a victor.

This is a significant mechanism to has evaluated if you have ever had direct head trauma or trauma directly to your tailbone.

As a manual therapist spending 8hrs+ a day with hands on patients you begin to appreciate your own muscle health. In any career we will find ourselves doing repetitive moments and that pattern adds up over time.
-
The primary reasons we see many tissues in distress and in pain is due to these daily patterns and having a tendency to over-use or maybe misuse certain muscles.
-
We can avoid this through proper education, treatment & maintenance. You must understand what and why you’re doing something as well as how you can be proactive in preventing the issue in the future.
-
Tendonitis in the arm/elbow is typically thrown into the golfer elbow🏌🏼 or tennis 🎾 elbow categories. Since these activities require a lot of gripping as well as repetitive movements we can see patterns manifest in athletes and in average joe’s alike if their bodies are not conditioned well enough for the activities.
-
As these muscles tighten they begin pulling on the tendon which in turn pulls on the bone creating an inflammatory response and pain. We then feel this pain intensify because the overuse continues. Take time today and apply some self therapy to your arm muscles. 😎
