Volunteer opportunities are available in areas including the breast health center, lung cancer screening program, genetic counseling, infusion and outpatient surgery, helping provide comfort, guidance and support when it's needed most.

✨The day included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community tours of the third premier facility in SMH’s evolving Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute. The Cancer Pavilion brings together every stage of the cancer journey β€” from early detection and diagnosis to treatment, recovery and survivorship β€” under one roof, setting a new standard for cancer care in our region and bringing hope and healing closer to home.

First Physicians Group urologist Ramsay Kuo, MD, recently performed the first Aquablation therapy procedure at SMH-Venice, expanding access to this innovative, minimally invasive treatment option for men with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Powered by robotics and AI, Aquablation therapy uses real-time imaging to precisely remove excess prostate tissue, helping patients find relief while reducing the risk of complications associated with traditional treatment options.

Sarasota Memorial has been named an American Heart Association All-Star Training Center? A prestigious distinction awarded to a select group of training centers that demonstrate exceptional performance, quality and commitment to advancing CPR and lifesaving education.

SMH's network of 172 instructors provides Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training, helping enhance confidence, improve readiness and empower learners with the skills that save lives.

Sarasota Memorial’s Kolschowsky Research and Education Institute is enrolling patients in a research study evaluating LINFU (Low-Intensity Non-Focused Ultrasound), an emerging screening technology designed to help doctors identify precancerous changes in people at high risk for pancreatic cancer, but who have no signs or symptoms of the disease.
