✨💜 Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Sarasota Memorial is seeking compassionate volunteers to help support patients and families throughout their cancer care journey at the new Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion.

Volunteer opportunities are available in areas including the breast health center, lung cancer screening program, genetic counseling, infusion and outpatient surgery, helping provide comfort, guidance and support when it's needed most.

Whether welcoming guests, assisting care teams or offering a reassuring presence, our volunteers help make compassionate care possible every day!

💗 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in their lifetime?

Early detection through annual screenings and mammograms can make all the difference. “When it’s discovered in the early stages, breast cancer can be highly treatable,” says Sarah Kimball, MD, FACS, breast surgical oncologist with Sarasota Memorial’s Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute and First Physicians Group.

🙌 Now open, the Boscia Breast Health Center inside the new Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion offers state-of-the-art mammography and advanced breast imaging services designed with patient comfort and convenience in mind, making breast health services more accessible than ever.

🎉💜 Today, Sarasota Memorial welcomed hundreds of community members, staff and physicians to celebrate the grand opening of the new Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion!

✨The day included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community tours of the third premier facility in SMH’s evolving Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute. The Cancer Pavilion brings together every stage of the cancer journey — from early detection and diagnosis to treatment, recovery and survivorship — under one roof, setting a new standard for cancer care in our region and bringing hope and healing closer to home.

💬 “Today represents far more than the opening of a new facility,” said Kevin Cooper, chair of the Sarasota County Public Hospital Board. “It reflects our community’s commitment to ensuring that patients and families facing cancer have access to exceptional care, advanced treatment options and compassionate support close to home.”

🙌✨ New milestone for men's healthcare at SMH!

First Physicians Group urologist Ramsay Kuo, MD, recently performed the first Aquablation therapy procedure at SMH-Venice, expanding access to this innovative, minimally invasive treatment option for men with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Powered by robotics and AI, Aquablation therapy uses real-time imaging to precisely remove excess prostate tissue, helping patients find relief while reducing the risk of complications associated with traditional treatment options.

👏 Sarasota Memorial has now performed more than 100 Aquablation procedures system-wide, bringing advanced, personalized treatment options to men across our region. Congrats Dr. Kuo and the entire urology team on these important milestones!

This year, 300 cancer survivors from across our community came together to celebrate strength, resilience and hope. It was a meaningful day of connection, inspiration and shared stories, and was honored to be part of it.

Sarasota Memorial has been named an American Heart Association All-Star Training Center? A prestigious distinction awarded to a select group of training centers that demonstrate exceptional performance, quality and commitment to advancing CPR and lifesaving education.

SMH's network of 172 instructors provides Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training, helping enhance confidence, improve readiness and empower learners with the skills that save lives.

Sarasota Memorial’s Kolschowsky Research and Education Institute is enrolling patients in a research study evaluating LINFU (Low-Intensity Non-Focused Ultrasound), an emerging screening technology designed to help doctors identify precancerous changes in people at high risk for pancreatic cancer, but who have no signs or symptoms of the disease.
