Overthinking is a control mechanism.

It creates the illusion of control — the sense that if you think hard enough, you can prevent uncertainty.

When the nervous system senses threat — not danger, but unpredictability — the mind accelerates. It scans. It anticipates. It prepares.

That preparation feels like progress.

But eliminating uncertainty is not the same as increasing tolerance for it.

At some point, more thinking is just avoidance…a way to stay in analysis instead of feeling.

Control reduces anxiety temporarily.
Tolerance reduces it long term.

Not everything needs to be transformed.
Some things need to settle, be witnessed, and slowly reorganized. 🌱

Safety first. The rest follows. 🫶
Let this year move at a livable pace. 🕊️

Wishing you a gentle year. 🤍

Hey everyone 👋🏼

Thank you for following and being part of this growing space. My goal here is to share insights that help you better understand yourself, your relationships, and the healing and transformation process in ways that feel both practical and human.

I’d love to hear from you:
🧠 What psychology or mental health topics are you most curious about?
💬 Have you seen something on social media or talked about with friends or family that you’d like to understand more deeply?

Your feedback not only shapes what I share here, but also helps me build a deeper understanding of what matters most within our community which, in turn, enriches my work with clients.

I’m always happy to do the research and open up conversations with colleagues so we can explore these topics together. Drop your thoughts below ⬇️

Are you ready for change? 🔄

Connection is the root of healing: within, between, and beyond.

That’s the heart of my work at Thrive Family Therapy: Helping clients rediscover who they are and to feel empowered to grow. 🌱

Therapy should be accessible, not out of reach. I’ve recently lowered my session fees to make quality care more affordable, with rates now below the average for private practice in the Bay Area. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are also available for those on a tighter budget. If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, this may be the right time to begin. 🙌🏼

Curious if we might be a good fit? Let’s connect for a free phone consultation. No pressure, just conversation. 💬
