Regarding the COVID-19 vaccine:
1/2 I highly recommend getting the vaccine. Trust me, you don't want COVID-19. Sure, many people have a mild course, but you never know who is going to be hit hard by it.
Addressing some reasonable concerns that people have. I won't be addressing the ridiculous objections such as the Bill Gate$/microchip nonsense.
What about testing? Isn't this untested?
If that were the case, the vaccine would've been available a year ago. It's easy to make a vaccine. That's what they've been doing all year, testing it for safety and efficacy. Sure, we'd like to have longer term study, but we don't have time, obviously.
What about the fact that these are mRNA vaccines? Isn't that dangerous and untested?
Yes, the vaccines are mRNA vaccines. No, they're not dangerous or untested. First, the Wuhan virus is an mRNA bomb. It loads your cells with all the instructions in mRNA form, as many viruses do. This includes all of the mRNA instructions to make many, many copies of itself. The vaccine is only the part of the mRNA from the virus that makes what's called the "spike protein," which makes the virus sticky and able to attach to your cells. It causes you to make only a part of the virus that is key to how it works, but not harmful, thus training your immune system to block the sticky part of the virus. Second, we've been studying and experimenting with mRNA for years. We know plenty about it and how to manipulate it. We know what it does and what it doesn't do.
